Actually, during that timeframe Soren wouldn't have known he was branded, thus it'd just be Generic Soren Angst(TM) possibly with some seasickness. He never learned about his heritage until he was studying in the cathedral, etc. etc. etc.

Anyways, very strong Soren characterization here.
