2009-06-06 . chapter 30
Has it been a year? Whew, I didn't realise time passed so fast, but it had been too nice waiting for a new chapter of this story.
The last chapter brings all to a lovely and fitting close. I'm truly happy that Severus now known as John has found himself a new life, and a really good life, too. It's good to see that he has embraced all what life had to offer him as well as his difficult past and has found his way on this difficult path. May they live long and prosper! *g*

Hi,

And it is finished! Congraulations, you did a good job of pulling one man apart and putting him back together again. Well Done.

I just read this entire story in one night, knowing I have to do some worn in the morning. I have to say this was an outstanding closure to the life of the man once called Severys Snape. He was owed some happiness and I am glad you found a way to give it to him. Excellent piece.

Well done for doing a good job and completing this. It's good that John has managed to disengage from the things that made him bitter - still, personally I don't really like the idea that he can do so only by putting his old self aside. Me, I *liked* his old self, and it would be nice to see him like his old self too.

There are several foreignisms in this chapter, if you want to edit them:

"distract points" - you mean subtract. To distract is to cause someone's attention to be diverted.

"suggested that there was no question of them giving it" - since it seems in context that she expected them to sign, that should be "...no question of them not giving it".

"I bear no grudge. Against no one." - should be "Against anyone."

"dapping at his eyes" - dabbing, not dapping.

"he does have changed" - should be either "he has changed" or "he does seem/appear to have changed".

Was für ein wunderbarer, versöhnlicher, optimistischer und trotzdem nicht kitschiger Abschluß deiner tollen Geschichte!! Super!!

I'm happy to see that John has come to terms with his past and made peace with it. I doubt that he will ever see Dumbledore again, I think their 'happily ever after' won't include going back to Hogwarts as a Potions Master. He's much too happy in his job at the convent to deal with dunderheads again, it gives him the scope that teaching at Hogwarts never allowed him. I will miss him and Vivian, but I'm glad they will have a happy life.

I do hope they live happily ever after. John deserves it.

A beautiful ending to a beautiful story! I have enjoyed this tale immensely. The portrayal of Snape/John is very good and I really like your OC, Vivian. I'm glad you let John confront Dumbledore in this last chapter and the outcome of the confrontation was great.

I think this story is an excellent alternative ending to the character Severus Snape, and though I have really enjoyed reading it, I'm glad that you are letting John Smith live happily ever after with his wife and sons.

Sometimes a little push is too much. Sometimes it works.
