Again, this was excellent. A little more abrupt and, almost louder than your other stories. The only thing I have a problem with is when you come out and say her name. I like the subtle hints better.

I could not read this before, and I was simply astounded when I realised that this was most likely a Harry/Hermione. If it is, though, I can't see Harry talking like that. Draco, perhaps, or another Slytherin.

Hermione's inferiority complex is, I'm ashamed of myself to say, adorable--and the way she tries to brush off the hurt is obvious in between the lines. 'Intelligence was her territory.' I remember having thought the same thing about myself before.

This was very compelling for such a short piece! I personally enjoyed it. And may I take a stab at who the guy was? I'm thinking it was Harry because of the last line the "guy" said: Sometimes being myself seems not to be enough too...but I manage to survive. The survive part just made me think of Harry. Keep up the wonderful work.
