Too true. I, in particular, hate Mary Sues because I work hard to make well-rounded, well-balanced OCs. Mary Sues give OCs a bad name. I support well-written OCs and self-inserts, particularly because of my OTP. (coughItachixAliciaFTWcough)

If you want to see well-written OCs, read the work of Kray Torishi. He manages to create characters as colorful and interesting as the canon characters, and his plotline is logical and free of holes. (I should know. He and I work as a team, with me as his beta. We co-own several OCs.) He even manages to do well-written self-insertion. People say the same things about my OCs, but I don't want to praise myself. While I do work hard to make believable, well-balanced OCs, I don't trust myself to judge how well they are made. The first character I created was a Mary Sue, but I was only thirteen when I made her up. (I didn't join the site until two years later, and had since done a lot of growing up.) Thankfully, I was able to save her when I went back and fixed my plot holes.

Keep up the good work. However, I daresay that Assuke deserves this Yuki Sakura person. Mary Sues and Gary Stus are a perfect match for one another. They can rot together in the deepest pit of the underworld.
