Even though you just touched on it, it sums up both Shinji and Misato both have had horrible lives thrust upon them, both broken and uncaring in the end. Shinji's life had been so emotionally barren he feared the touch of another human. He didn't feel worthy of being loved and no one had loved him in his memory or really cared. Misato, well is Misato she just acted differently although she was afraid of getting too close to anyone. All the NGE characters were broken with a few exceptions. Still, a good fic (as usual).

Oh, Serena. Again, a masterpiece. I've been hoping you'd do one on Misato but I was too timid to query. At any rate, it's here and I'm feeling all cozy inside. I think this is possibly the closest one could get to "Misato" in words. We've seen her in fast, colored animation, in black and white manga frames, but never in words, paragraphs, sentences. Yet I can still see her twisted, wry smile superimposed on the screen as I read. Was it a long visit, to get all this out of her? It seems like she'd not be very verbose concerning that heart that she keeps hidden so well...Captain Katsuragi is much easier to pen than Misato Katsuragi, in my opinion. Keep writing...I'll keep reading.

really good, i didn't know what to expect because there was no summary and the title is really vague but i was pleasantly surprised. misato stories that are new and creative are always great additions to fan fiction. i enjoyed the story so much because you are very descriptive and it adds to the original scenes from the show. great work, i'll be reading your stuff in the future. you should out a better summary on it.

Well, it's been a little while since I've rewatched the series, but I recognized the parts almost immediately. I really liked this little glimpse into Misato's head, she doesn't get enough attention sometimes. I can imagine most, if not all, of these thoughts coming directly from her. Very nicely done. My only nitpick (come on! I had to have one _ is that the formatting could be improved to help the readability. Otherwise, this was a very nicely done story. Keep writing.
