Pretty good for a first.

Damn. I avoided this for quite a while because of the yuri content. Thank goodness this is only a oneshot and the rating is a T, not M. *shudders*
Overall, it's good. I wouldn't exactly call this yuri, since there is no actual attraction involved.
DN is the best fandom for yaoi, but not for yuri since the women are either all idiots or too serious like Naomi or Halle. Kudos for making this realistic...although I was a bit disapointed. I enjoy action, but I think I like it when you write more self-reflection instead.
I can definally see how Naomi thinks about Wedy. I mean, it really must suck to be in the FBI like that. You could have added some stuff from Wedy's point of view...
Not much depth in this fic...if you added more to this oneshot, maybe it would have been better...I mean, Naomi's feelings has GOT to go deeper than that. I can relate to Naomi in her lack of choice in what she does. Maybe you could have added more meaning to being chained there...or go into details about why Naomi froze, aside from the obvious shock...
But it's a good first attempt for a yuri. And that's a lot considering what a yaoi fan I am! ;)

Yeah, shouldn't speak ill of the dead and all, but it's fascinating that Wedy should remind Naomi of freedom while Raye is, well, a little MCP. It'd be cool if you could write a follow-up in which L requires Naomi and Wedy to work together and Naomi works on keeping her self-control. Then L would be all curious and Wedy would take great delight in relating the scandalous details while Naomi would be "Gr." XD

Loved this! Wedy and Naomi, my too favorite female characters! Cute! Oh, BTW, the fighting style is called "Capoeira".

Ooh, DN yuri! Now there's a category I haven't looked into too much. But I figured I'd give this one a shot, since you wrote it and all.

And I like it a lot. I wish DN had some more well developed female characters... that's really one of my main displeasures concerning what is an overall wonderful series. It's just really no secret that DN comes across a tad... well, sexist.. or male chauvenistic or something.. I mean, nearly all of the more interesting and important characters are male. Sadly, the females tend to let the males dominate and walk all over them all the time...and the few who don't, end up getting killed for it! :/

So I guess I'm saying that I'm so glad there are people like you writing fan fiction to MAKE the female characters more well developed and interesting. I never would have thought of pairing these two, but you made it work very nicely! They're certainly some of the spunkier females in the series, even if we don't get to see much of them at all, so I think you made a good choice there. Plus I just love your version of Wedy, of course!

And I agree whole heartedly with what another reviewer said before me, that the idea that straight laced Naomi could possibly be attracted to the freedom of Wedy's dangerous lifestyle is a plausible dynamic that comes across rather interesting and believable. Even if the situation itself is slightly fantastical. :)

In short, you've once again proved both your respectful dedication to this fandom, and your admirable versatility as a writer. Very well done!

So, I'm not really a good judge of these two characters at all, and after reading Pandora's Mischief I think I'm probably tying a lot of that story into my impression of Wedy's canon character, which is kind of funny and probably not exceptionally accurate. But in short, I couldn't even take a stab in the dark at whether or not the characterization is close, but it's interesting and entertaining, and that's what counts for me.

What I do remember of Naomi Misora, and probably what most people remember, is her relationship with Ray Penber, and the way she seems to give up everything at her own expense when she thinks it's in her best interests in the long run. I think that aspect of her is very well represented here, as she compares the life she has chosen to lead to Wedy's life and realizes she's essentially confined herself to a strict and structured lifestyle, whereas Wedy has the freedom to act as she chooses to.

I really like how that lust for freedom is incorporated into Misora, and it is interesting to see how she's completely conflicted about it, in that she feels resentment towards Wedy for it, but also envy. I'm sure she loves her job; that's definitely an impression I've always gotten. But even people who are fortunate enough to do what they enjoy get tired of the monotony and tedium, and everyone fantasizes about the things they could be doing instead if they had made different choices somewhere along the line.

Feels realistic to me, both as a concept and, by extension, as a pairing, and it's something people can identify with. The concept, that is. Maybe not the pairing. But either way, I'm intrigued, and it is nice to see this sort of variety once in a while.

Very interesting. These two characters have often been neglected in the show and fanfictions alike. You put them in a believable situation and I loved it. I'd like to see more of this combination...

I loved this, and I loved your characterisation of Naomi; how she went to America to find a sense of freedom where she could do whatever she wanted.

In that way, this almost didn't feel like yuri. It felt more like Naomi was attracted to the idea of Wedy's life instead of Wedy. Although I do think that Wedy could turn the straightest person gay...

You write Wedy so well! I just love her, and I'm so happy that you wrote her again. (I just looked at your other stories before I did this review, and I didn't even know that you updated Pandora's Mischief! What the hell?! I will be reading that after this.) You're really the only one who's writing her in this fandom. =D
