Poor Andy(Dromeda)!

2008-10-08 . chapter 1
Perhaps she was no hero herself, but she had made the choice of being happy instead, and it hadn’t been easy; her family had paid the price.

How ironic it was that Andromeda found she could no longer be happy without her heroes.

Wow! Just wow.

Nicely done!
And the author's note at the bottom is quite possibly the nicest and most creative request for a review I've seen to date. :)
Well written story that was captivating until the last word.

Oh, this was wonderful. I loved how you portrayed Andromeda and that last line...

Your grammar, spelling and punctuation is really good. I adore your writing style.

Normally, I don't read much fanfic centering around the Blacks, but I like your version of Andromeda. Keep writing!

This was...truely beautiful. It almost mad me want to cry in the end. She did lose all her hero's and she would no longer be happy. It was just brilliantly done and definitely going on my favorites. You wrote it perfectly and there were no grammer mistakes or anything that plundered the story and the characterization was great! Just magnificent and i love the usage of the French launguage, not enough to confuse and yet not too little just enough to get the mood right. Great job!

Oh my! This story was brilliant! Such a lovely look at Andromeda. Loved the moments with her and the young Sirius, knowing what would be coming in the future. What I really loved were all the bits of dialogue among Dromeda and her guests--you've got a very natural, very real way of writing how characters would say things. Nothing heavy-handed or obvious. But words that feel like they truly connect not only to the character themselves, but to the overall theme of the work. Funny, and yet very serious. And I loved the pondering about the Houses and their personalities and Andromeda actually being in Slytherin.

This was delightful! Truly delightful!

I liked this. It showed Andromeda's love with Ted, but the pressures she had to make to overcome her Black heritage. And this line totally got me "Caradoc, Fabian, Gideon, Dorcas, Sirius, Remus, Dora… sometimes Andromeda felt like her heart was a cemetery for war heroes." Perfect. You write very well. I have yet to read a story of yours that I have not enjoyed. :)

Hmm... I wasn't going to review because I don't really have any strong feelings about this fic, but I've been trying to review everything I read, especially those in my new favorite pairing, Ted/Andromeda. And I saw from your profile that you also like to review everything, so I thought that I would give you the courtesy of a review.

I love the last part (it was both sad and beautiful), but I thought the rest of it was just okay. All of the French felt rather forced, but I guess that often happens with challenges like this. Any challenge fics where you must use certain words or sentences usually stifle creativity (this is just my opinion--based on your profile, I think that you probably believe differently!).

I rarely see Andromeda in anywhere but Slytherin in fanfiction--at least in the halfway decent fanfiction--so I definitely wouldn't call it a fanon belief that she was in another House (however, I have been annoyed with the few fics I've seen where she wasn't a Slytherin).

“I’m not interested in girls,” Sirius said. “James says they’re a pain in the neck, especially when they’ve got red hair.”

Sirius is a neverending fountain of wisdom, I must say.

Sad, in a way, because she couldn't have a number of people she loved attend her wedding. In spite of her happiness, it seemed to lack the warmth and overall spirit that most people have on their wedding day. I felt sorry for Andromeda because choosing happiness over family loyalty had to be one of the hardest decisions she had to make.

The ending was amazing and heartbreaking. My favorite line "Caradoc, Fabian, Gideon, Dorcas, Sirius, Remus, Dora… sometimes Andromeda felt like her heart was a cemetery for war heroes." actually makes me think Harry must feel something similar at the end of the last book. But it reminds us that choices can make us happy in the short term, but can sometimes lead to consequences no one can predict. Though, I'm not sure how many people would make different choices even if they had an idea of the future.

This was amazing! Your writing is fantastic, and I love anything with the Black family. And Edith Piaf is one of my favorites.

I certainly agree with you about Andromeda being in Slytherin. I just can't picture her in any other house.

that was beautiful! ;) and I agree, ANDROMEDA WAS IN SLYTHERIN. JKR herself hinted it with Sirius being the only non-slytherin black :D hehe.
