Well I enjoyed this first chapter, of what has all the promises to be good story. Can't wait to read exactly how Professor Snape is going to explain to Harry, that he's his mentor...and what that mean to their relationship in regards to breaking rules etc., Bet that would/will be an interesting meeting. Will Severus be informing Minerva of the fact he's been appointed Harry's mentor by Albus? Will this relationship change between Severus and Harry alter how Harry is disciplined? Also will Severus want to find out more about Harry, his home life and life before Hogwarts? Well I can't wait to read further chapters. Once again, splendid work!

Of course, this would never happen--because then Snape would find out about the Dursleys, and find out that Dumbledore knows, and has done nothing about them. Isn't it interesting that the Aurors never showed up there till _after_ Snape _did_ find out through the Occlumency lessons?

I do seriously hope you continue this story as it is a awesome story, cant wait to see what happends next!

This was a really good first chapter, you write very well. I especially enjoyed your take Snape and Dumbledore, many people get carried away and we readers end up with a Snape that's gone as soft as a plushie toy and a Dumbledore that's gone looney. I must say it's nice to see characters... well, in character! Snape and Dumbledore's actions/reactions were completely believeable. The added bit of humor was just the cherry on top.

As a prologue, the length of this chapter was great, it really set the story in motion. Hopefully, though, the other chapters will be somewhat larger in length.

All in all, the chapter really flowed quite nicely with no awkward wordings or mistakes in grammer. If you don't have a Beta you did a great job editing on your own! I look forward to seeing this continued as I think your fic will be one of the better mentor-Snape fics out there. Good luck writing!
