i really like this look at neville, no one seems to write what he thinks, or care for that matter. it really gives perspective. and i like how he knows at the end. perhaps this was what happened, we'll never know, we can just guess. thanks.

I never expected to read a fic directly involving both Neville and Sirius, and now I'm sad because this is probably the only one :(. I liked the way you brought out Neville's problem (there's a writer who said the main thing about a character is their problem), and I could really relate to it. The thing about Snape made me really think, too; it makes more sense than the surface view we got of it in PoA.

The ending confused me a little, though. It was very powerful, but I'm wondering about it. So did Neville figure out that the dog was Sirius Black, then?

Wow, that was really, really good. I was never a huge Neville fan before, but you made the character really alive for me, in ways that even J.K.R. hasn't before. I could relate to his feelings so much.

You're definitely hit the list of one of my favourite authors. You're stories can be a trifle dark but they are incredibly well writen and tugs at the heart strings.

This story did not disappoint. It was brillia
ntly done and I could very clearly picture Neville's extreme loneliness and desperation to belong. And the twist at the end. One word. Brilliant. =)

In the first 3 HP books, poor Neville seems to be comic relief-- and then we begin to learn how complex he is in GoF. I'm very interested to see what JKR has in store for the dear boy.

And in the meantime...this is WONDERUL. Giving us a glimpse into Neville's tortured soul. "And then on other nights like this one, he'd stay up listening to the light snores and deep breathing and realize that even though he was surrounded by people, he would always be very much alone." Letting him know that Snape was a DE. Making Uncle Algie truly menacing instead of just a shortsighted idiot. God, when Neville welcomes death in the form of the drooling "death beast" it really shows how just how desperately lonely and terrifying Neville's life is.

P.S. to Neville: My son is going to be Trevor for Halloween tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you.

I loved this fic. So humorous and genuine and emotional as well. You know what, I'd never even thought of the Neville/Sirius pairing before, but now that I've read your fics I have to say it's truly worth it. I've always loved them both, anyway!
