This story almost made me cry, poor Fred, poor Katie, poor Oliver, feeling like he's not good enough for her.

Okay, so I was bored and needed something to do tonight, so I thought, "I'll just read that one shot of kati.jane's that I never read.
I was not expecting what I got.
What I got was a sad Fratie mixed with Katie/Oliver. From the title, I never would have guessed. Never judge a story by its title, I guess...
I've never read anything quite like this, but I really enjoyed it, and it gave me a new perspective. I've never really thought about what happened to katie after fred died.

i must say this gave me goosebumps. it was so depressing but amazingly written. And using the death cab song was an excellent choice:). absolutely loved it.

You see, I've been reading Fratie's all day and a good portion of my night as well. I thought 'what the hey? why not go ahead and enjoy OWKB as well?' Now I am depressed--touched, but depressed. And in severe need of Fred. *mutters curses upon the last book that killed my favorite character*

That is totally, totally amazing. It's probably one of the rare(trust me on this) few times where I feel that Oliver suffering is neccessary. And I am a KBOW shipper. I would sooner be hanged than think such a thing, but there you go.

This really touched me-- I think its just perfect. I havent read anything so simple, yet so emotional for a long long time. Probably one of my fav FWKB hinted stories around. It totally inspired me to write something like it... When I bother to write of course.

I usually don't like repitition, but in this particular instance the repitition of the phrase is very artfully used, and powerful. I've never seen Oliver and Katie portrayed this way, and I wasn't sure I was going to like it, but I ended up rather enjoying the story. Your style was almost poetic, and very fresh. Kudos!

youre so evil. and im SO bad. i said i would write you something to make you feel better and i still havent. well, i started it, gah, apologies.
but yeah, i can see why you needed cheering up.
anyway, emotionally it was a very complex piece, for the characters and the reader. cause you know, i dont have to explain the characters cause obviously you wrote them, and yadda yadda yadda. but the reader it was something immense. cause i mean, how do you not love fred and in turn loving katie for loving fred? so since you love her you want her to be happy but more than anything you want her to be happy with fred. yeah. . . . so basically our feelings become a mixed up versions of olivers which is what makes this piece so strong.

and i apologize for going all english major on your ** right then.

Ah! So sad, but not too angsty. Beautifully done. You have a knack for the short story. Everything we need to know is here, but nothing extraneous.

Would love to see the same story from Katie's point of view.

Oh wow that was a sad yet beautiful story... like most Death Cab songs...
I know the song well so it played in my head while i read it. I usually hate songfics but this was very very well done. Amazing story...

(I saw Death Cab last year and will soon see them at the Pemberton Festival... very excited! If they play Brothers on a Hotel Bed your story will definitely come to mind...)
