Reviews for: The Scent of Absence

This story was sad, but I liked that we got to read things from Mozenrath's point of view. It was interesting to see how he is reflecting on things.

I feel so bad for Moze (Al too, for that matter) ! He really wants to find Jasmine, yet can't. I hope he doesn't go into mass depression :( He doesn't even have Xerxes for company anymore.

Seems he's trying not to use the gauntlet so much, that's a good idea. Hopefully he can continue to put off using the dark object for a while, even though it must be really hard.

Look out for my reviews for 'Circum’ and 'The Height of Faith' ! I'll be reading them a.s.a.p. :)

What a lovely addition to Antiphony. I do hold sympathy for Mozenrath in this one-shot. I like the personality you give him. He sounds...attractive, unlike in the actual show, haha. He looks kind of funny. (Then again, he IS a cartoon, haha.)

I like the contrast of Mozenrath's thoughts in comparison to Jasmin's in Antiphony. where Jasmin over analyzes Mozie suppresses tangent thoughts and inner exploration and looks at things in a a more methodical and mechanical way. despite this, he can't help but seem terrible human and wounded here. excellent.

My inner M/J fangirl is weeping :(

This was really good! He is so controlled with his emotions all the time despite loosing another woman he loves...that's what he gets for being such a stubborn man!! This was the perfect follow-up to Antiphony and as I said during all my reviews of Antiphony...you rock! Keep up the good work!
She Who Dreams

excellent, as usual)

it's interesting to find out how Mozenrath feels about Jasmine's departure.

Most of all, I loved that bit about him going out to see if his land can help, and his feelings when he realizes it can't. The frustration. the anger... and how he still refuses to admit that he misses Jasmine, because it would be a weakness.

you never cease to amaze me)
thanks)

Oh, poor Mozenrath. The women he loves keep leaving him. That's tough, buddy. xD

Anyhoo, I love how it starts out with "darkness could only be understood in contrast to light" and "he was now conscious of silence as well, which could only be understood in contrast to sound" It almost seems like Jasmine really made Mozenrath take notice of himself and what's around him. Bet he doesn't like that.

I liked how even as he woke and knew Jasmine was gone, he kept his eyes closed. Sort of a "Seeing it to Believe It/It’s Sinking In" thing.

Ah ha, and the man of course doesn't like looking back at his past. I wouldn't either if I were in his turban. And now he's put Jasmine in the "Past Folder." I think Moze suffers from Denial Issues, a while later he breaks his own rules and looks for Jasmine. Sadly, it appears she has been magically shielded from him. Too bad, so sad. He's all out of luck at the moment isn't he?

"It was late morning, but the fool still had not risen."

I think that really tells a lot about Aladdin. It shows that since he isn't an early bird, he isn't willing to rise early for royal functions, etc. He isn’t suited for it, even with his good heart and street smarts. What, does he think if he still becomes sultan he can sleep in and have servants and valets run the kingdom? When Jasmine and Aladdin are in Aladdin's hovel in the movie and have their "Trapped" conversation, it really shows how ignorant they are about The Other Side. Jasmine didn't have a clue about how peasants lived, the harsh work they faced, and Al still doesn't truly understand what it means to be a royal. No caviar for him. Iago gets his share. haha.

Aw, and then Mozenrath tries to seek his land's help in finding Jasmine, and had to admit that the sand could not even do that for him. Poor guy. And now he's lonely, feeling the sting solitude harder than before.

Great work! ^_^ Honestly, one of these days you need to get published. I'd be first in line at the bookstore. lol.
