Very well done. The true price of immortality is that you leave loved ones behind. And having a child be the one to lose is really sad. Especially since they had to leave him so early. It did sound like William had a long and happy life.

I think there's a reason that, in most vampire lore, vampires can't have children. This is why. Great job.
