Great and worthy tribute! And the best part is Avatar is still gaining new fans long after its finale was broadcast, myself included and Korra will only bring more. Long live Avatar!
SwampFoxTheThird 3/27/11 . chapter 1
I know I'm a bit late to the party, but... This is so true. Avatar is just..wow. The fandom is one of the best and most diverse I've ever been a part of, and the show itself is amazing.
Once I get ahold of season one, I'm so going on an episode watching weekend marathon. :D

You summed up my thoughts exactly with this.-Swampy

Oh my. That was a truly amazing piece of writing, even if it was about a children's cartoon! It's a bit late to be reading this, I suppose, but, meh!

I half watched the first book when it showed back in '05, but I never really paid attention (I was 9, I thought I was too 'grown up' for cartoons- funny how you grow up when you're really young and then grow back down again! Want another example from me, the teenager? I have to make an important decision- should I watch a Winnie the Pooh movie, a Disney Princess movie, or Phineas and Ferb?) but when the live action film was coming out, I decided I wanted to see the series again, so I watched books 2 and 3. I watched them in three days. (Beginning of book 2- I saw Azula. I didn't remember who she was, but when I saw her with her lightning, I was like 'Yep, she's my favorite.' Even after I found out she was the baddie, I still thought so!) Now, I'm totally obsessed!

And when I was watching Sozin's Comet, I was thinking 'Wow, this is actually the end!' and I was heartbroken! Even more so when Azula and Ozai (my two faves- call me evil if you want!) suffered a fate worse than death, I had to turn my head away when Azula totally lost it! And I kept thinking about how there will never be any more, that it was honest to Agni done for! Even with the awesome Kataang and Maiko ending, I still cried! I still wish Ozai had died though, it would have meant less suffering, cause there's no way he's ever turning back to the good side!

But, reading this, I'm realizing, it really isn't the end at all! There's still lots of stuff to find out about the Avatarverse from Avatar Extras, random things Mike and Bryan have said, and things created by the fandom. And this is going to become something I'll still love for many years to come, and my kids will think I'm a nerd, I'll still be watching fanvideos and everything in 25 years, I bet!

These kind of shows are the ones that stick to me- the ones that are entertaining, and teach you lessons (the biggest lesson I learned was from Azula- when you have an issue, start it on fire!). Sure, I love stuff like iCarly and Phineas and Ferb, they're both great! But they don't really teach you anything. Plus, Avatar is more exiting, with the super shipping wars, the rabid Zuko fangirls, the rabid Sokka fangirls (ZUKO FTW BEEYOTCHES!) and they wont stop being crazy, insane, stupid, rabid, BRILLIANT people for many, many years!

And, anyways, this really isn't over on TV even! Legend of Korra for the win, am I right? from, the Super Avatard, YouWantMyChickenAndBiscuits

PS- I hope you didn't die from old age while reading this super long and rant-y review!

PPS- I must say it one more time- ZUKO FTW!

Just stumbled across this now... 2 years after the show ended! Anywho... I think what you said is true. If I still like the show after 2 long years, I think it's possible for Avatar's legend to live on. Heck, it set the bar for the other Nick cartoons coming after it.

I remember being extremly pissed when I missed the first part of the finale when it aired on YTV. And being even more pissed when YTV stopped showing it. One of the downsides of living in Canada, I suppose.

I love what you said about Zuko, mostly because it's so true! And Sokka always serves as the comic relief, especially in "The Desert".

Time for me to end this long review.

LONG LIVE AVATAR! (the good cartoon, not the movie of the same name. BTW, did you know the text used to write the two titles is the same? Or at least close to it? Kawaii Girl XD

I think I actually teared up! I only became an Avatard a year ago, and by then the show was already over. Funny story- I used to think Avatar was just another annoying little kids' show, but when my dad got it from blockbuster, and when we watched it, I didn't want to STOP watching it! My siblings and I watched it over and over again throughout the weekend. I immediately fell in love with the show and spent hours at a time sifting through Google links so I could watch it. Thank you for the tribute. cheers.

My goodness.
I couldn't have said it better than that!*laughs* I suddenly have a deep desire to embark on a "rewatch all the episodes in one weekend" marathon. Let's see, I have a little over twelve hours until the weekend is over. CAN I DO IT? Only one way to find out!
Florida Alicat 4/19/09 . chapter 1
It's not to emotional for anything because it doesn't matter if you learn life lessons from dogs, cats, books, movies, music (and musical), plays, adults, or children just that you get them.
Something you might want to know: I think that the writers of AtLA are going to be kidnapped by rabid fangirls soon if they don't have a season 4 but that's just my opinion.
BTR-Profiler 2/5/09 . chapter 1
Yup, that fits every Avatar fan. I was pretty upset when they ended the show... *tears* But, there is always way to rewatch the episodes... *evil laughter*

Flameo, sir. Flameo. Beautiful tribute to the best animated show ever.

HOLY CRUD. I cried! I know it's a little late for me to be reading this, but I stumbled upon this on ASN and I couldn't help but be curious! It's amazing, really. A work of art. And your ending...the 'to be continued', really touched my heart. Why? Because it really is so true. The Avatar will always live. There is no "the end", or "final", it's always the beginning of a new tomorrow. And yes, I did actually favorite this. That's how much this touched me.)
IceFire9 8/26/08 . chapter 1
Wow, that sums up my feelings entirely. Long live Avatar!

Hey! I loved your final tribute. I am so sad that Avatar is ending too! Not much I'm going to add, because you pretty much summed it all up, but thanks. It was great to read.-Dalanti

Meep. For the past two days I have been ranting about what upset me the most about the finale. I've been silently depressing because it is the end of a great series. But I never actually thought how much Avatar actually impacted me. It wasn't until April 16, 2007 (hah, of course I remembered the date) when I made my promise to Avatar: I Will Love You. I recorded every episode, watched them all at least ten times each, memorized transcripts, turned regular people into Avatar fans, got Avatar fans back into the fandom, annoyed my family with my unique obsessions, wrote my own fanfiction (even if they aren't the best), tried my hand at drawing (that didn't go so well), met some pretty interesting fans (that are now my close friends), and just loved the show. Avatar has definitely changed me, enlightened me, if you will. Sometimes I use Iroh's wisdom in everyday problems, or learned from the character's mistakes. Because there is no show out there kid friendly, action packed, romance guaranteed, humor promised enough for all ages. It's sprouted the bad, the good, and the crazy in all us fans (rabid shipping wars). And I can't believe it's all ending... I mean, endED... (cue the tears). Well, in short, terrific tribute to Avatar. I will favorite this, because this undoubtedly my feelings towards the finale and the entire fandom, and show it to whoever says "It's just a show,"What's the big deal?" and "You're crazy." Yep, so thanks for writing this!

Sorry if in some areas this review doesn't make any sense at all. My brain was cluttered due to the finale and the genuine-ness of this tribute. Yeah... so... let's hope for the best!
Wow this is a long review. heh. okay, I'll stop now. Happy Monday![:
