How did I miss this when you posted it? Oh this was delightful and wonderful. What a great twist of an AU. From McGee to Abby and everyone in between. That Gibbs gets to keep Shannon and Kelly in your AU is marvelous. And I do believe the family life we saw is what it would have been.

Just realized I forgot to mention this in my other review, you have to do one more chapter. We've got to see Shannon & Kelly's reaction to Gibbs bringing an injured Tony home. Also loved the last line "Is there any pie left?" that is so Tony.

I just love this fic. It maybe set after WW II, but everyone for the most part appears just like on the show.

I really hope that you do write more of these, a very enjoyable read. Welcome back! VP.

after reading, nay, skimming the first chapters I'd been "saving up" to date, because I'm really bad with cliffhangers and easily suffer from withdrawal if I don't get a chapter a day :)
but now I can finally print them all out and look forward to a great long read...
being a huge fan of old-fashioned detective stories (faves are Chandler and Hammett) I love what you've done with our "gang".. every role fits perfectly, and I love seeing Gibbs as a "family guy".. so easy to imagine what he was / would have been like
