|Reviews for Seras Sees Dead People|
| marora 8/4/09 . chapter 3
Girl, from one chiquita bonita to another, drop everything and run!
Really funny chapter, good cliffie.
| marora 8/4/09 . chapter 2
She needs to go find that boy from the sixth sense to tell her how to deal with all these poltergiests!
| marora 8/4/09 . chapter 1
Oh Victoria! When will you ever learn there's no use arguing with Captian Jack?
| Lion in the Land 7/31/09 . chapter 9
Do you want to know how cool I am? Yes, I thought you might - I looked up 'Party Man' on You Tube to listen to while I read this. You Tube deleted most of the recordings - can you flippin' believe that? But the scene in the art museum was there, and I totally remember it! You know, from when I saw it on the big screen. :P
Anywho, on with the review. Nice ending! Who is Helena, by the way? It seemed like she was from Hellsing, but then Alucard said, "Who's Helena?" Was that just because he still didn't believe in the ghosts?
In this chapter, this was the line that CMU: 'Jan and Casper were the first two to answer Seras's call. They both walked out of Integra's office, cigars in their mouths.'
It was actually more of a guffaw, if I'm being honest.
I just watched the Anime last night with Jan, and I hadn't realized that it was pronounced 'Jan.' I'd thought it was 'Jan.' Oh, I guess that doesn't quite translate via text, does it?
The clown chase was awesome, to put it simply. Very good descriptions and very good use of all the characters. I particularly liked when Jack picked up Seras and took off with her, saying: “Tell her later, Love. We've got a ghost to catch. Remember?”
I liked how Seras felt the nature of the Joker: “I can feel it! He's... he's crazy! Not stupid, but... but completely insane!”
Aww, Seras and Pip got to fade to black. :) I didn't need to see it, I just needed to know it happened. I really, really love Seras and Pip. I think they just may make my top-10-couples-of-all-time list. They're just so right together. *sigh*
Here's another *sigh* for being done with this story. :( If I could give a story favorite-favorite status, this would be it. Truly. So, tell me, what shall I read next? Shall it be this 'Geist Krieg'? (Sorry, didn't check yet to see if you actually wrote it.) It sounds quite different from your other stories that I've read. I'd be up for it, but I'll wait for your direction...Master. ;)
| Lion in the Land 7/30/09 . chapter 8
I'm kind of feeling Pip and Seras's frustrations - stop interrupting already!
Perfect Jan, the raunchy lad. And I shouldn't have been taking a sip of my drink when I read "Casper" - I nearly spit it out all over my laptop.
So I see Alucard is OOC again here, right - with the attempt to hurt Seras. But would you say that it would be in character for him to deliberately try to hurt her sometimes in a more psychological way, like putting her down and taking opportunities to burst her bubble?
My favorite line of this chapter:
The Joker looked into her eyes again and continued, “Of course, if anyone else calls you 'beast', I'll rip their lungs out.”
| Lion in the Land 7/29/09 . chapter 7
And the Joker makes Integra explode in a fit of gig- er, uncontrollable laughter. Me, I giggled - that is too funny to picture Alucard that way! Especially because he's so completely unaware of it.
Before I go on about this chapter, here's some things I neglected to comment on in the two previous:
1. YES I noticed that Integra and Seras both wonders why everything bad happens to them. Hm, seems to be a theme with you. ;)
2. I agree completely with Walter's sentiments that if Alucard is able to so easily clean up around the place, why doesn't he save the elderly butler some effort once in a while?
3. I thought you did a bang-up job with Jan in the last chapter. I've noticed that you're not someone to gratuitously drop f-bombs, but I was glad to see that you did it for Jan, cuz it kind of wouldn't be Jan without that, right?
And now back to this chapter:
This CMU: "He blames the other ghost for... Oh, just go get the monkey" Why is everything funnier when there's a monkey involved?
And the “My peanut” is just so, so awesomely Captain Jack Sparrow.
"After multiple, failed relationships and many, many slaps in the face; Jack had, learned the hard way, not to argue with that look."
Ah yes, the look. 'Tis a useful thing once perfected. Children can be trained to heed 'the look' as well, you know.
Barbossa made a face akin to a parent, who's child complained of a stomachache after consuming a three pound bag of candy. “Jack, how many times have I told you, 'smoking's bad for your health'?”
Ha ha! That was great. :D And now, mostly so I can stop feeling useless, since all I've done is clap and gush throughout this story, I'd like to offer a tip or an opinion, or whatever. Even though readers already know what most of the characters look like, I still appreciate a little descriptor here and there to grasp onto. Like what I said about Jan in earlier reviews. But here, something on that previous line with Barbosa, maybe saying something about his scraggly beard, or his gruff, gravely voice, or his yellowed eyes or teeth would have been nice. I know that's not something worth going back and adding here, but just to keep in mind in future.
Fabulous chapter again. I am amazed at how strong this story is staying the whole way through. How DARE you almost not recommend it to me!
| Lion in the Land 7/28/09 . chapter 6
"Trusting Pip to prove my sanity? I must be crazy!" Haha - what has poor Seras come to?
I really liked her little attempt to stand-up to Integra - seriously, for someone who's hunted down the undead for her whole life, why would ghosts be so unbelievable?
And you certainly did come up with a creative - and perverted - way to prove it to her. Jan Valentine kissing Integra Hellsing, never thought I'd see it.
The Joker! And Pip and Jack meeting - oh, this is gonna be good.
| Lion in the Land 7/27/09 . chapter 5
I thought this was an especially great chapter. So much happened! The Nexus explanation was fantastic, and I like how you got into the whole limbo thing. It totally makes sense whe you think about who she's seen here - Cap'n Jack - good but bad. The merrymen - stealing but giving to the poor. Jan - well, mostly evil, but highly entertaining, so I guess that counts for something!
I thought you did a very decent job with Barbosa. That whole scene with him waking up the drunken Seras & Jack CMU. And then, AND THEN you included my most favorite Pirates line of all: “We named the monkey 'Jack'.” Do you remember how the monkey smiled at that line in the movie? I was like, "Dammit, even the monkey's an amazing actor." But I do wonder how the little fella is going to fare in that zoo Integra's going to stick him in, or rather, how the other monkeys are going to fare.
Oh, and when Integra thought this: 'At least, I can always depend on Walter.' - was that a little Hellsing manga foreshadowing?
Oh, and Pip! I do so love him and Seras together. They are just one of those couples that are made for each other. Way, way too funny to picture her as Integra must have seen her!
This story is still as great as it was at the first chapter.
| Lion in the Land 7/26/09 . chapter 4
“Put the monkey down.” Ha ha. :D
This chapter had two of my favorite Pirates things:
#2 Undead Monkey!
Will the next chapter have #3 favorite thing - Barbosa?
I liked Alucard getting a hard time and Seras getting a chance to giggle. Very clever way to do it.
I swear, I actually hear Jack's voice every time you write him a line.
You know what? I actually do have a suggestion, not that you'll change it now, but in the future if you use Jan, he's such an interesting character to look at, maybe a little more description of him with his piercings and whatnot would be good.
Terribly fun chapter - again!
| Lion in the Land 7/26/09 . chapter 3
When those merry men broke into song, I about lost it!
And then when Robin Hood said, "There are other rich houses nearby, and they most likely do not have drunken vampires to bother us." I did lose it. :D
It was just so funny every time Seras explained herself. It CMU to look at her from Integra's perspective, especially when she started blasting apart the vases.
You ended this at quite the cliffhanger. Now I just HAVE to see what happens when she twists Alucard's head.
| Lion in the Land 7/25/09 . chapter 2
Dang, you have got Jack Sparrow down. How many times have you watched those movies?
Like this response:
Seras replied in a coy voice. “Oh, I was just thinking that I'd like to introduce you to my master.”
“Ahuh, and why would you be wanting to do that now?”
It's just so him. And I liked the part about him playing the fool, but not actually being one.
This was also cute:
Alucard pinched the brim of his nose and sighed. “Yes, yes. It was all this Jack Sparrow's fault. You've already told us.”
“Captain Jack Sparrow. He was very particular on that.”
I also appreciate these clever little vampirish things that you sneak in there, like Seras getting "a good day's sleep." And when Seras was wondering if maybe she'd gotten ahold of a bag of doped up blood. What do you think would happen if a vampire fed on an intoxicated human? Is there any precedent out there?
Seras' predicament is just so funny, and there's no one better to be in it. And now we've got friar's steeling guns. I look forward to see what's next.
| Lion in the Land 7/18/09 . chapter 1
You KNEW that I was going to love this, didn't you? Oh, you 'just want my opinion' - yeah right. You want my gushy praise - and that's exactly what you're going to get. This was FANTASTIC! You absolutely nailed Jack Sparrow. Nailed him!
“Captain! That's Captain Sparrow, love.”
“Doing? What am I doing? Oh yes, give me a minute. I was just so surprised that someone could see me, I'm afraid I forgot what I came in here for. Um, oh yes, rum. I'm looking for the rum.”
“Well played, well played. Send me to limbo and deprive me of human contact for hundreds of years. Then let me find someone who can see me, a beautiful young woman to boot, only to discover that she's an uptight virgin, committed to sobriety. Oh yes, well played. Sir, I tip my hat to you.”
Well, you know what you wrote, but it was all spot on Cap'n Jack Sparrow. And the compass that found the rum - perfect.
So, obviously I loved every second of the Cap'n Jack part, but I also thought the intro. and ending were good.
Very cute how Seras is frustrated that Alucard keeps letting her fight it out for herself. OH! And I have a confession to make - I drink wine from a box. I know that this may seem an odd moment for me to make this confession - but it's because the wine is actually in a bag inside the box - so when Seras was sucking on her bag o' blood and it deflated like a juice box, I totally related! Mustn't waste a drop, right, so you've got to rip that bag out of the box when it's low and coax every last drip out - and it completely looks like a bag o' blood. But don't worry - I only drink Black Box, which is what all the Hollywood stars are drinking (copying off of me, of course).
And Walter walking in on a scotch-drenched Seras and offering to make her coffee was too cute.
So, I see you made this one-shot a nine-shot, ey? Can't promise exactly when I'll be back - but I most definitely will be back. This was fun!
| YuriFan5 7/4/09 . chapter 9
Well, let's take a review of the crossovers hmm? In order, Pirates of the Carribean, Robin Hood, No idea where Jan is from, The Dark Knight, and Oblivion (of all things, really wasn't expecting that one). A funny, if slightly... ok, more than slightly, crazy ride.
| LoveHopes 5/27/09 . chapter 9
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA LMAO! I love this I was laughing the entire time especially when Alucard got his face painted
| I'm-Not-So-Sweet 4/14/09 . chapter 9
Fabulous. Loved it!
