abuseVery nice story!! I do however believe that Holmes would know to tell potatoes from carrots... since potatoes can be poisonous and belong to the same family (Solanaceae)as such highly poisonous plants as Belladonna, Datura, Henbane as well as the tobacco plant and Mandragora... This is just a bit of geeky information that I think Homels would know... if I know him right... You could actually kill someone with the ordinary potatoe... if you tried enough...

abuse“Occasionally, but more often than not I either over-water them or under-water them, and they simply die” - hmm, that'll do it every time.

He doesn't know the difference between a potato plant and a carrot plant? - well, don't ask him to get ingredients for the cooking pot!

Excellent :)

abuseHah! But a potato plant is poisonous! I bet he'd know it as a member of the nightshade family! (And while too many carrots aren't poisonous, they can turn one a disturbing shade of orange for a few days)...
