this story is probably one of the best that i've read in the ncis section. thank you so much for writing this...you've had me on the edge of my seat for several hours now as i had to read the whole thing in one sitting. you stayed true to the characters as well as exploring a really, really bad guy and building an intense case.

14 chapters of awesome. I love these hero!McGee stories, because that's how I read these. This is so how I'd see the character reacting to something like this on the show. And the Tony/Tim friendship stuff is just so good.

This story was filled with suspense and excitement from beginning to end. The plot was solid. It held my full attention. There may have been others that noted imperfection in the computer/internet details, but I saw none. The plan laid out by the bad guys was plausible. Dialog was sharp and consistent with cannon characters.

Too bad Tara had to die. I would like to have seen a follow up story of romance between Tara and Tim.

I really like this story. I was sorry to have it end. I hope you continue to write NCIS - that's all I read. Its the only TV show I watch.

I'm adding this story to my favorites. I am sure that I missed things I was reading so fast, so I'll go back through and take more time to savor its nuances.

Okay, HOW has this only gotten like 180 reviews?

When I read a good fic of this kind I get this weird feeling, like I can't figure out why no one cares that I've just gone through what the character's gone through. I get left with this sensation that I've experienced everything and it's so surreal. Only well written, detailed and just plain awesome stories get that reaction from me and I was so drawn in I spent a whole afternoon devouring everything on the screen. I just... wow!

ok, I have to confess that I'm really really annoyed at for making your story so good. You see, I started reading your story about 3 or 4 hours ago with the intention of going to bed around 11 or midnight but your story was so good that I couldn't stop reading which effectively ruined my plans of going to bed early so I would wake up early lol. anyway, that was a fantastic story and I really really loved how close the team was, although I was awfully sad that Tara died. Anyway great story!

Um, wow. I don't leave a lot of reviews, but I just had to say how fabulous I found this fic. It was dark and I teared up more than once but everything fit so well without having that rehearsed feel, you know?


All of the characters, familiar or otherwise, were really well-rounded. Not overly described but distinct and with enough details to let the reader imagine them. Reams especially will visit my nightmares, I'm sure. And Tim! Tim was so painfully IC that I seriously hurt for him. Poor Probie. :(

I'm not usually a huge case story fan (unless there's romance because I'm girly like that) but the elements here were so true to the show that I didn't care. And the plot! It was brilliant without covering previously tread ground. I mean, I don't think I've read a fanfic quite like this one.

The character relationships were great-- I especially loved Ziva plowing over Tony and Tim, Tim being angry with Tony and Abby sleeping on Tim's bed. The climax definitely takes the cake, though. Tim all injured and drugged running on pure adrenaline as he saves Tony. Awesome.

Great, great work. Hope to see you do more NCIS stuff in the future. :)

I just recently discovered how AWESOME this show is and was surprised to find this fantastic story you had written! I remember seeing it posted in your LJ but, as I didn't know the show, I didn't read it. *shame* But I'm so happy I stumbled upon it again! I love this story, it's quite possibly my fave from you (but then again, there is Thermopylae...and Sheppard Moon...and Failure to Communicate...) Okay, so I have a few faves. :D Anyway, you nailed each character's voice and I especially liked how you didn't just sweep ugly and uncomfortable feelings under the carpet and give into the "everything's a-ok now!" quick fix. I gotta say it again: I loved this story! I really hope you'll write more for NCIS. Thank you for posting this :)

Sorry for the lack of chapter by chapter reviews - I read this all in one go. The characters were spot on and the plot very angsty. Poor McGee.

I liked that the team are a family and they noticed McGee was missing. That he was systematically tortured and almost broken and Tony (good ole Tony) and Ziva stuck by him was very endearing. Abby beating herself up that she was slow. I wish I could see this as an episode.

Are you going to write anymore NCIS? *pleads*
