ah, i like this one. very well written, cockney and all. and very IC of the irregulars and of holmes. i also like the description holmes gave of them all stuck in the little room. i couldn't help but picture dirty hands getting grime all over furniture. maybe that's why holmes was thrown out of his rooms in montague street ;)

Boy you gave me massive flashbacks with that one. I live in a county that has many varied streets with strata and terrain over a thousand years in age; I can tell the altitude I COULD be in by the colour of the soil...and the type of rock...but I never realized that rule would apply to cities until I started reading Holmes. Wow, thanks for excavating those memories for me!
