My favorite part was when Sayu slapped Near,-that-was-awesome. The original robot-boy needs to be brought down a few notches and Sayu Yagami is just the one to do it.

Don't mind ocs all that much if their based on people seen in the book, so thanks for clearing that little issue up.

kay so seriously this is WAY OVERDUE for a review by me. seriously, i've been eagerly anticipating this for... well, forever, lol. and what a radical turn this has taken! the part with the shinigami king is very promising... i assume you're going to spin it the way you talked about on your LJ, yes? furthermore, the interaction between sayu and misa was interesting ('great' seems wrong to put here, considering the topic at hand.) i like the fact that you gave misa some screentime, and the idea that she is the last one to know that her husband-to-be (or did they get married? i don't remember!) is dead is so tragic. i'm intrigued by both the sayuxmatsuda and the sayuxnear aspects of this particular pairing, and near's almost contemptous look when she shooes him out says so much about the nuances of his character. spot-on, aren't you? :D anyway this is really good and i hope you update son

OH good this story looks incredibly promising! A plot with another death note is difficult, but you seem like a very talented author so I'm sure you can pull it off. I don't mind if you mix up both Near and Matsuda in there, you should just run with both of them and see how it turns out.

On one hand it seems very fitting that Matsuda should find his way into the Yagami family. And him and Sayu are very sweet together. But even more I think she should end up with Near... just because I just can't imagine him ever finding romance with anyone ever (maybe thats a bad reason, haha). Its easy to imagine Matsuda finding a woman who appreciates that he is a sweet honest man with a good job and all that, but its hard to think of Near ever associating with anyone besides Mello (who is out of the picture obviously), and the SPK (who are practically like his parents.). So I just imagine Near wearing pajamas and playing with toys all alone for his whole life! So if he can be happy with Sayu, then that would be great.
