Flygon Pirate 2008-09-25 . chapter 5That was great! But can you censor the language a bit? I'm kind of being bothered by it. If you don't want to, then that's fine to...
But the rest of it was pretty interesting! :D |
SpiritOfSherwood 2008-09-20 . chapter 5This is a great story! Davey Jones is one of my favourite POTC characters and I also think you have kicked me off into the world of Jones/Calypso. Another ship is always exciting . . . ahem sorry for the reminiscing. Looking forward to the next chappie.

Nytd 2008-09-18 . chapter 5I was so pleased to find this in my mailbox this morning! It was the first thing I opened so I could enjoy it with coffee.
Another well-written chapter!
Nice to see Harris and Emmett again!
So ol' Black Bart makes an appearance. Quiet the character he is (or thinks he is,aye?) :)
I think your idea about there being a very long history between Davy and Calypso, and a relationship that grows and evolves to be the legendary lovestory we know is right on the mark.
The last paragraphs where Davy contemplates his meeting with the mysterious woman are fabulous.
"All at once, she terrified and intrigued him, comforted him and made him feel the need to crawl out of his own skin."
This line is great, and I think, another flicker of dark foreshadowing.
"As he drifted off to sleep, a clean, dry shirt on his back and the gentle rocking of the ship cradling him, he could smell spices and salts and feel a woman’s warm fingers trailing along the side of his face in the world of peace and dreams."
This is fabulous, and the perfect way to end the chapter!
Nice work on this one. Glad to hear that the next update will be sooner, but the important thing is that you keep them coming! :)
Cheers!

Nytd 2008-08-22 . chapter 4I was glad to see an update from you when I found the alert in my mailbox!
Nice chapter. Very powerful when Davy tries in vain to defend his little sister, and very sad.
Love the way you end the chapter with Davy being rescued, unkowing, by a woman we all know. ;)
Cool idea!
Looking forward to the next one.
Cheers!

Please update soon! |
 Nytd 2008-07-29 . chapter 3Huzzah, another chapter!
“Captives?” Emmett echoed, stepping out from behind Harris and grinning, “Nay, the fearsome Davy Jones ne’er leaves any survivors!”
Nice little bit of playful foreshadowing here!
I like Emmett and the playful boyish relationship he's struck up with Davy. Keep on with the Italian! It adds a nice touch to his character.
So, we catch a glimpse of how Davy is about to begin his career at sea. I imagine he has a lot of interesting lessons to learn! ;)
Bad news for everyone, I think, if Papa Jones is home. I sense a major conflict brewing, and I look forward to seeing what happens when Davy and his father re-unite.
More nice work!
Cheers! |
Flygon Pirate 2008-07-28 . chapter 2Good chapter. I liked it.

I like it!

Nytd 2008-07-27 . chapter 2Just happened to be up dealing with a bout of insomnia when this came in.
Richard Harris is a lovely name for an OC!
“Davy Jones, you say?” Richard smiled, “Has a nice ring to it.”
Very droll. Especially as it will become the most feared name in the seven seas!
“For your father?” “Yes,” Davy answered coldly, without hesitation.
Chilling. I think the elder Jones is in a lot of trouble.
Lovely job with a couple of very well-written and interesting OC's.
I think your story is showing a lot of potential!
There are so few backstories for some of the really interesting characters like Barbossa and Ragetti out there. Jones is certainly one of them, and I'm glad you're up to the challenge!
Cheers!
