Lthayer3 2010-01-07 . chapter 1Well it isn't often that I favorite a story after just the first chapter. This looks to be a great story -- well written and highly entertaining. And 63 more chapters! This'll keep me occupied for hours! :) |
etherian 2010-01-07 . chapter 64I took about four days to read this and absolutely loved it. It's how I wish the novels had gone! :)
You did an absolutely wonderful job. My only hitch was that Snape continued to call Harry 'Potter' or 'Mr. Potter' when I would have loved to see him, at least in private, call Harry by his given name.
It really was a fantastic story and I'll be adding it into my bookmarks as a definite re-read.
Also, congrats to you and the new baby. I hope that all is well. |
etherian 2010-01-04 . chapter 19Woah!! Snape is just brilliant with Lucius! |
Neeshack 2010-01-03 . chapter 64Absolutely Fantastic story. There were times I laughed so hard I had to step away from the computer to calm down. Then there were times I had to reach for the Kleenex. Well done. |
Neeshack 2010-01-03 . chapter 20OMG! BRILLIANT! I laughed SO hard when I read this chapter, I had to step away from the computer to calm down. |
Wind Spark 2010-01-02 . chapter 64Was on DeviantArt. Saw picture. Reassured myself that it was NOT Snape/Harry love. Saw link to story. Clicked. Read. Laughed. Nearly cried. Loved it.
Before I continue, here are a few facts. You wrote a story roughly half the word length of the Bible in (0_0 Oh, my gosh. . . ) about one year and three months. Let me just make this clear. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows is approximately 198,227 words. Yours is 335,155, more then double. Deathly Hollows also took about two years to do, and this was JKR’s job, not hobby. You are amazing. I don’t know how you did it. Coffee? No sleep for a week? Magic?
Of course, I didn’t actually read the whole thing. After three days I was only on Chapter 5, so I decided to speed read the rest, skipping over much of Snape’s inner monologue, and probably missing most of the best parts, but it was unavoidable; I just needed it to go so much faster.
Even skipping a lot, I still loved it. Your story is funny, sad, sweet and so emotionally touching I couldn’t stop reading. Everyone was slightly OOC, but it worked so well for the story I’m not going to complain about that at all.
The characters were all wonderful (I love Snape!) especially McGonogall, who I thought was perfect. I cracked up when I read that line. “Must have been something I ate.”
The only things I can think that I wanted but didn’t see . . . Tonks. You mentioned her, but I wish she could have had more of a role. I to, wanted Lockheart, if only for the dueling club scene, but I guess you can’t have everything. Still, if you were ever thinking of a sequel . . .
Oh, and triple points for Brunhilde, the only OC for Snape I ever liked.
Do you write professionally at all? Any books published? Seems like a waste of talent not to have those amazing words off the internet and onto paper.
Anyways, I’m going to be rereading it and giving chapter by chapter reviews as I read everything completely. Even though you probably have better things to do than hear from excited fans, especially with Harper Rose. ^_^
Thanks very, very much for this story! |
serinianfire 2010-01-01 . chapter 64 This is one of the best fan-fiction stories ever written! I have read the tale over a dozen times start to finish and could probably quote your lines I have enjoyed it so! I followed along as you wrote the last few chapters having discovered the story this summer and enjoyed every page! You are truly a tribute to the fan-fiction realm and I hope you are writing for years to come! I will be looking for your future work though I don't know if it is possible to top an amazing story like this! Keep writing! |
 jgood27 2010-01-01 . chapter 64good story |
autumngold 2010-01-01 . chapter 64 I have just found, and read, your two Harry Potter stories. Please believe me when I tell you how much I have enjoyed reading them. I really enjoyed them just as much as the original books, but I loved your portrayal of Snape and Potter even more. Thank you for giving them such a beautiful father/son relationship. My favorite thing is that two people who went through so much pain in their lives were able to find each other. I really like how you were able to have them heal each other's wounds. I love reading about Snape and Harry, not slash since it's not my thing, but just being friends. This story is perfect!! I hope that you are enjoying your beautiful baby! I hope, also, that you have time in the future to write another Harry/Snape story! You are an absolutely incredibly talented author! Thank you so much for your stories! |
Belle86 2009-12-30 . chapter 47I just love reading this chapter. It's so funny that McGonagall would eat Umbridge. And the fact that Snape's shocked and scared about it. So funny! |
grumpy gills 2009-12-30 . chapter 64I just reread this whole story (I'm also abyssgirl, by the way) and I just WISH there was a SEQUEL. ;) |
Karasu57 2009-12-30 . chapter 64Wahou...such a good story ! I had to finish it before the end of my holidays. Which means I spent the last two days with my computer as my dear mother pointed out. But well, I am not the person who wrote a story so good tha the reader have to finish it as soon as he sees how brilliant it is !
Well, I thank you very much : it has been a long time since I found a story which could be so ...time-taking (I d not know if it is correct but you understand the general idea ^^) |
Purple Sakura 2009-12-29 . chapter 64i love this story! Flaky Pastry got owned! at last! :) and i love how snappy sevvy is so... nice iin this story. i love him! :) |
excessivelyperky 2009-12-27 . chapter 59"What could go wrong?"
--Oops. Lucius found out what happens when greed triumphs good sense and ruthlessness, didn't he? Bad Lucius, no biscuit for you! And his excuse of being under the Imperius is bouncing right back at him.
And the Order's guard is down right now at the good news. (cueing up Evil Music). |
JennaTripped 2009-12-26 . chapter 13You know a story is really good when I start checking how many chapters there are out of anxiety over a possibly imminent ending. |
