I have in my life made a habit of loving those characters - both in Torchwood and in many other genres - that make it HARD for us to do so. Owen is one such example. When a man has to die in order to live, you know he's going to be a struggle, but he was so worth it. He broke my heart as much as Toshiko's, damn him...and, with this story, so did you.

It's hard to write this through the blurry mess my eyes are right now. I should not have been listening to Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars" while reading this. Had to sob into a pillow so as not to alarm my dorm mates.

Absolutely beautiful. That line of Toshiko's, "Because you're breaking my heart!" just grabs ahold and twists you. Or at least it did me. You expanded upon that so well - this was moving and poignant, but mostly importantly, it was Owen underneath everything. Bravo.
