Very interesting story. Tobias is often portrayed in fan fic as simply a complete bastard, so it was interesting to see a different take on him. I really do wish that Rowling had revealed more about Tobias and Severus's relationship in Deathly Hallows. There is still so much we don't know about Sev's family and childhood.

Prieda! It's been such a long, long time since I've read anything of yours- let along logged onto this site- but this was absolutely excellent, superb, fantastically-written (basically everything that can be fantastic and great about reading one's first piece of fanfic in months.

I loved your characterization of Tobias. You manage to get such great character development and description into a short piece, and I am astounded each time. Even the more peripheral characters- Sirius, James, etc.- are perfectly and aptly described. I loved this part about Lupin:

"...Lupin, who was thin and awkwardly tall, spent a suspicious number of days on sick leave and most of the rest of the time looking like he was on the brink of expiring anyway."

Excellent! I actually laughed out loud at that. Anyway, I couldn't give you enough compliments on your writing, as per usual. I hope you're doing well. I noticed you haven't posted anything HP-related in a while, but I hope you still check your reviews from time to time.

Tobias is awesome. I like how in canon you don't know much about the relationship because you can leave it to a lot of interpretation and this is an awesome one. I know you said there wasn't going to be any fluff but the ending seemed a bit...abrupt. Maybe its just me. Still going to fave it. XOXOXO

Severus should have had someone who cared for him, sometimes at least, and to read a story that shows a little moment like this is beautiful.
Unfortunately the few things that we know from canon don't give us hints of a good father, but we know almost nothing of his parents, so a story like this can stand convincingly.
And it is very good and very nice.

This is magnificent - how you portray both Snapes - and how, besides their differences and conflicts, can have this father-son relationship. Perfect ;) love it.

The relationship between Snape and his father was always an interesting one. You clearly show that one of these conversations are rare, and kept them both in character very nicely.
I'd enjoy seeing another one of these father son moments.

Very convincing. Severus's general jumpiness suggests abuse but we don't know whether that was his parents or just excessive attention form the Marauders.

You're probably right about Peter. He was stuck in the same dorm with the others and he may well have joined them so they wouldn't pick on him.

If James thought defending himself against two attackers was heroic, he shouldn't have sneered at Severus who was fighting four.

You've got one typo btw - "from the look on the boys face" should be "boy's".

A very well written fic! A good portary about thisnunusual father/son relationship! Loved Severus, he was in character. I loved the way you wrote his father, would like to read more! Def a fav!
