This was an incredibly sad/comforting piece of work and I liked it very much.

Anyway I like your take on his hunting habits. He really can't keep his mouth shut when it comes to sad people can he? Just think of Raz. Legs on the wind. That's a great way to describe a horse. And you're right, this story needs no rewrite.

An older piece it may be, but it's still wicked! I particularly like the scene where Janos gets Gunter lovin' from his wife. So amusing. If husbands ever complain about not getting sex from their wives, they can blame vampires for not biting the women while they're sleeping!

And that sequence with Anja is kind of bittersweet. You really feel her vulnerability there, with her illness and the food she'd buy, and yet she's in very capable hands. I really felt for her anyway. I just noticed one part where you spelled her name as "Anya" instead of Anja, but that's no big deal! Lovely tale, and it was a pleasure reading your Janos characterization.
