This perspective from the Mystic Man is fascinating, as well as tragic. It seems to fit well with the character played by Mr. Dreyfus and explains his motivations.

Interesting point of view from the Mystic Man. I wouldn't be surprised if the Mystic Man actually saw all of these events occur before they happened. Could be a reason as to why he lost himself to the vapors. Probably so that he could have forgotten that he'd seen them and was unable to do anything about it.
Yet he managed to have some hope when he saw DG for the first time and realized that in the end everything would workout, eventually.

Really liked this story a lot.
