This is the end then? I wish you would expand more on some of these shorter stories! Good job, once again

I liked this piece. Your take on James fits well with canon. It's easy for me to see James purely in the negative, because really we don't get any scenes in canon where he comes across well. On the other hand, I don't think he's meant to be viewed as a total jerk. I wonder if JKR intended the things she wrote of him to come across the way they do. Like not really giving him the big heroes death, but having him not carrying his wand when attacked (while Harry always keeps his right with him).

You make it easier to believe in a Lily that could have loved Severus given other circumstances (as according to JKR, she could). I find it harder to reconcile JKR's comment with the girl that had to hide a smile while James and Sirius tormented Severus, and who immediately turned on him to join in the tormenting and cruel remarks as soon as he used the mudblood word on her and then left him there in the hands of his enemies.

That was so sad - she never got to find out why he was doing the things he did, nor that he was helping her...
This was a great set of stories - I like the Lily perspective!

I really like your take on Lily and James' relationship. I've just read all three of your fics in this series and although the second was my favourite I really enjoyed them all and think they were brilliantly written. A different characterisation of Snape to a lot of other stuff I've read but it really works. Actually made me want to cry a bit at the end of this one :)

Another great job. I think your writing come the closest to how I see these characters: Lily, Severus, James and Sirius.

I've always loved the idea of Sev seeing her/running into her at the market or something when she's pregnant and around the time she's in hiding. So heartbreaking for him. I wonder why the cashier at the register gave him the look over. He's not meant to be physically impressive. Plus, dressed in a cloak. This cashier must be goth or something.

He's the loyal kind.

It's dangerous out there--so naturally neither James nor Sirius volunteer to do the marketing. Apparently that's a job only a tired, pregnant woman on her own can do. One wonders how well dealing with a cranky toddler felt like at Godric's Hollow with Marauders on the side every weekend (and I suspect James was no help then, either).

You know, you can almost hear the gears twisting in Snape's mind--he's just about to switch them with that "**".

And of course it's Lily who always makes dinner and cleans up, isn't it?

A good thing Snape is willing to risk his life; James and Sirius can't be bothered to miss a game, after all.
