Well now, this story seems interesting. I certainly enjoyed this chapter specifically. My favorite part was when Emerald put on the amphecyte over her head. I could envision her freaking out about th e feel of it. Too funny. But, most of all, I love that she's Aussi. Well done.

Yay! Pirates of Dark Water! I remember watching it when I was a little kid! It was such a cool series! It's a damn shame it's not on TV anymore... It's been such a long time that I had forgotten all the characters names... (none of them even sound familiar except for Niddlar) Anyway, enough of my nostalgia. This is a good story, and I'd like to see more of it. Also, I'd appreciate if you (or maybe one of the reviewers) could explain some of the properties of the dark water.(like what hapens to a boat that sails in it, where it comes from, and things like that) All I remember is that if you drink it you get really old and die.

Not bad... esp. since there's not much PODW fanfic out there. The accent (and the character too, for that matter) both would remind anyone who'd ever played Chrono Cross of Kid, so I assume that's what you're going for.

I thought that their escape from the ship was kind of rushed and I wasn't sure exactly how Bloth was holding onto Ren's ship, since the times that Ren's ship gets captured in the series it's either inside the maw of the Maelstrom or attached to the side, up high and out of the water. The story never even mentions them cutting ropes or anything, which makes me think, "wait, aren't they still attached to the ship?"

The other thing I was bothered by was when Emerald calls Ioz a chauvinistic jackass. At the time he wasn't really doing anything particularly chauvinistic; he's annoyed because she's grossed out by the Amphicytes and won't wear them and is holding up the other characters, but he doesn't say anything about that relating to her being a woman. But considering that the few PODW fanfics that I've read have the tendency either make Ioz into some sort of uber-chauvinist on whom they can scapegoat all their annoyances with society or to whitewash him completely. [Yeah, he's pretty bad that way in the 1st ep and the first part of the last ep, but considering the fact that he seems to have never even worked with a woman before Tula comes on the ship, he doesn't seem to make any *serious* objections to Tula, and they save each other's tails plenty of times (watch *The Dark Disciples* for some good examples of this.]

Overall, interesting story.
