Sea-of-Serendipity 5/13/12 . chapter 5You are simply amazing at portraying these characters. It seems like this could really happen-not an ooc sentence in sight! Are you a professional or something? That's really the impression I'm getting here.
Yukiru is much more dear to me than Kyoru... probably 'cause I always fall for the good guys...
Plus, my vocabulary is expanding tons. Gotta love that XD |
xViet Wonderlandx 1/20/12 . chapter 9This story was beautifully written; it was detailed very well and it is realistic. The fact that Kyo wasn't a ... those kind of thinkers in the anime/manga irritated me, no guy can't think about those kinds of imitate acts forever!
I really felt like murdering Kyo for raping Uo, but I'm glad he learned his lesson. -
Please write fics? c: |
Kimiko Nanasawa 12/11/10 . chapter 9Wow. What a lovely story. It was saddening at times, but it was also happy. I was on the verge of tears in a few chapters; I never thought that these characters could ever be so beautifully written again until the manga was over. I thought wrong.
Thank you for writing this. 3 |
 blue.destruction 9/10/10 . chapter 9Awesome!
You made me watch Fruits Basket...!
I'm happy that you're my beta-reader because you write sooo beautiful.
Yesterday I finished reading "And it was so" and I swear I wanted to review but I didn't know what to say TT |
Bookmarked Pages 8/5/10 . chapter 9This is FANTASTIC! Psh, who needs canon pairings anyway? This is WAY better! Natsuki Takaya kinda screwed this one up huh? BUT THTIS TOTALLY MAKES UP FOR IT! You wrote the characters so well, I didn't even really have to try to grasp all the oocness! 5 Stars, AWESOME job! |
eelbroth 8/5/10 . chapter 9I sat down to read a couple of chapters and, around one in the morning, wound up at the end of nine. I was too tired to review and then I was whisked away on a cruise for a week and then to Grandma's for a couple of days, but now I finally have a chance to sit down and comment. I hope I haven't forgotten too much of what I wanted to say...!
"Dreamer" is as different to "Running Water" as chocolate is to vanilla, and I admire the scope of your ability as a writer. While "Running Water" is light and quirky, “Dreamer” is a very dark, very heavy read. But beautiful, nonetheless. The chapters and the events within them seem disjointed, almost like a dream sequence. At times I felt I was reading a collection of drabbles centered on a similar theme instead of orderly, chronological chapters. I’m not sure if that was your intention, but whether it was or not, it made for a lovely experience. You handled the story’s dark content so maturely. You say you had no concept of writing when you wrote this? Bah! I should smack you for that. The writing was engaging and lyrical, and even in your simplest of phrases you deftly avoided clichés. (There was one where you compared a blush to watermelon that I really liked).
Although the quality of the writing didn’t surprise me, the focus of the story did. It’s about Yuki and Tohru, yes, but really it’s about Kyo. He took front and center stage for me. When I think back on the chapters, his scenes are the ones I remember most. His confession to Hatori is possibly the most gorgeously haunting thing I’ve ever read in my life. You got inside the head of a rapist who’s not a rapist and explained his motives in way that made them crystal-clear without justifying anything. And the ending! Oh, the ending! I won’t spoil it for anyone who reads this review, but it couldn’t have been any better.
So, Kyo’s part was great, but that’s not saying I didn’t enjoy the story’s Yukiru. I loved the snippet about Yuki’s calendar—so melancholy—and the room painting scene, how Tohru didn’t like white walls and Yuki concentrated so hard to sing. (The descriptions of music in this fic were very…do you play an instrument, perhaps?)
The scenes with them after Kyo came to the apartment are a little hazy in my memory, so I’m sorry I don’t have much to say for them besides how Yuki’s patience and devotion to the headsick Tohru made my heart ache. Like in “Running Water,” your characterization of Tohru had a bit of weird flavor. Your Tohru is kind of like dark chocolate to me—I can’t decide whether I love her or not. She’s not the Tohru I’m used to, but I agree with what you said concerning characters: If every fanfiction author wrote them the same, all of fanfiction would read the same, and that would be frightfully dull, which this story is not. Thanks for the beautiful, dark, enigmatic read. |
Waytomuchadoaboutnothing 6/7/10 . chapter 2Awww...Yuki should let out his feelings more freely...he's so sweet!

Yay! Love the story! |
Waytomuchadoaboutnothing 6/7/10 . chapter 1It's a bit confusing at the start, but once it get's a bit into it, you really do explain everything well...all in all... you are a fantastic writer, an I really like it! |

AssassinedAngel 11/18/09 . chapter 9I like this. You post on the day I'm not dead c:
This was sweet. Very realistic. At first, I was a little worried about how this couple would play out in this story, considering the situation, but you pulled it off realistically. Kyo (I can't believe I'm saying this) was almost too sweet and patient and loving. Very endearing. c: I hope you do continue to write because you're amazing. |
kouga's older woman 11/18/09 . chapter 9This chapter actually made me feel bad for Kyo! After what he did, I know I shouldn't. |
PocketxFullxOfxDreams 11/18/09 . chapter 9Aw... I was a little surprised when you said you were going to have a chapter to these two, I thought, "Is she going to pair them up somehow?" But this was an excellent ending to the story. Actually more appropriate than having it end with Tohru and Yuki, I think. It's emotional, it's realistic, and it has that perfect bitter-sweet tone to it that makes a wonderful ending. Congratulations on a wonderful close to an excellent story. I hope even if you give up fan-fiction that you continue writing, and if you do write more fan-fiction I'd certainly be interested.
Seriously, I love this. |
cloudsallaround 11/17/09 . chapter 9Kyou's action gave me a bit of the 'man who can't be moved' feeling XDD
Glad it all worked out, you really managed to do it without making it abrupt/awkward (:
Hanajima would make an awesome godmother, haha XDD
Congratulations on finishing this story I really liked it :3 |
