Nicely done, though I have to admit, I had to go back and read a recap of this episode before I could properly follow your story. I love the way you're able to show readers so much of the comfortable relationship Janeway and Chakotay must have had, even though we never got to see much of it on the show. Heck, talk about "making it look easy." You're the queen of that with J/C. Thanks for yet another enjoyable read.

Interesting, Miz. This felt a little different from the kind of story I guess I've come to expect from you? (Not in a bad way, though!) But definitely full of that wholesome canon we know and love, and as always, your version of the characters is so recognizable it's easy to picture this scene playing out on screen. For some reason, I especially loved Chakotay's resolution at the very end: to invite Harry along and share his experience. Very real, very truthful, and a nice insight into the episode. A worthwhile read as always, thanks :D

I loved how he would bring her coffee cake on visiting day.

Very interesting when you think about how he was a captain too. Even MORE reason why they should have been able to end up together.
