I enjoyed the "mini" chapters...especially the Charlie and Paton and balloons scene (I can completely imagine Charlie coming up with this crazy plan and Paton being all gung-ho about it). Lovely job!

As always, you do an amazing job :) If not music, I would say art. Now Lyell is our piano player, and Charlie plays the trumpet, even though he started out on a recorder. (Personally I like trumpet better, but maybe that's just because I play that and the piano!) Paton seems like the...clarinet sort of person. One of my best friends is a guy, and they play clarinets. violin would also suffice, but somehow I can't quite see him on a violin or trombone or flute. I think a clarinet would be good for Paton. And I think writing Paton in his Bloor days is an excellent idea, I look forward to reading it. Keep it up! And don't worry about not writing for a long time. School has begun, and I haven't written a whole lot either!

I think in the first book it says he was in music, and I think Jenni herself has said it at one point. As for instrument, because he's tall, something that having long fingers helps when you're playing maybe? Maybe the cello or bass, or even the guitar, though I don't know if they'd teach that at Bloors. Or you could go to the standard fall back of the piano. I've actually been wanting to do something like this for ages, though mine's an AU. In mine, he plays the cello and bass for school, but the guitar in his free time.

I don't know if you know this or not, but there is a Charlie Bone website and there's this one section where you could ask Jenny Nimmo (the author of the books) questions and one question just happened to be 'what department was paton in when he went to bloors?' and the answer was music. She didn't say what instrument though, perhaps piano like his nephew, Lyell. ;D

And I think making a story about his time at Bloors is a great idea! I always thought of how it was for him.
Maybe putting him in music for a singing voice? His mom was a singer and actress and someone should of inherited something.

Ah, fluff. Very convenient a time for you to update, by the way. School is sucking even more than I would have thought possible...anyway even if it is mindless fluff it's still brilliant as usual, and as a plus managed to take me away from miserable real life for a few moments. As to your question, I think I've read in one of the books that Paton was in music...might also just be my imagination, so whatever. And you might not even be going according to the story, so I guess it doesn't matter too much anyway. However, I think music would be the best choice; if he did have some artistic or dramatic talent it probably would have been mentioned. I have no idea what he would play, though.

A very calming story, yet somehow fit for an anniversary celebration. Speaking of which, has it really been a year?? Seems like only a few weeks ago I started reading it. Anyway, congratulations on both the year old story still going strong and the excellent chapter.
