Timeline notwithstanding, this is a refreshing take of Holmes' hiatus--together with one of the celebrated characters in the canon, no less!

I enjoyed this fic, and would wish to see more of their dialogue together. It's a good thing I check out previously published stories, or miss out on a gem like this! I can sympathize with you not posting right away. I do hope you find your muse one of these days and continue with the chapter. Again, thanks for the lovely read! ^_^

I like this. I always thought of those two, separate but equal, finding each other interesting but never moving past a certain point. They both compensate with intellect and personality. Two powerful minds! Who couldn't enjoy that kind of dynamic!

I will freely admit I've never liked Irene much, mostly because people never give her credit for being as intelligent or at least as quick-witted to Holmes, and also they act as if the woman was still unmarried. You, however, are doing an excellent job of portraying her as she would have been, had she lived and actually met Holmes during the Hiatus.

Wow. Way to leave your audience wanting more.I'm desperate for the next chapter. I love Holmes and Irene together whether plutonic or romantic.You've introduced some interesting plot points. What is Holmes doing in France, and why is he disguied as John Sigerson. Anyway, keep up the good work. Can't wait for the next chapter.

Non-canon non-minded, I'm enjoying this :). Granted, John is a common name, but I'm still tickled by the fact Holmes is using it.

LOL - you get points for at least knowing that it's unCanonical; most people completely forget that Adler had to have been dead by 1891. That fact alone, that you are aware of the Canon, is a plus in my book. :)
