wow. i am in awe of your incredible talents. and i don't say that to just any author. that was simply brilliant. it sent jabs of emotion through me, making me feel amiboshi's pain so strongly that i could have sworn i was there with him. simply amazing. the descriptions are beautiful making me sad and bitter at the same time as i read about koutoku growing into amiboshi and finally into kaika. that one line 'and i let go'...it stirred in me an indescribable sense of loss and sadness...well done. what i mean is, a story has to be better than 'good' to make me actually want to try and see from the character's pov and this definetly pulled me in. when i reread it with 'mizu kagami' playing it was twice as good. beautiful, short and just perfect for amiboshi. looking forward to yet more of your work.

Great story! I love Amiboshi/Kaika/Koutoku! (Whew, what a mouthful!) I also love the way you saw Amiboshi as a character. I've often wondered what could be going on in that poor guy's head during his betrayal, the fact that he ran away from his problems, and his whole life, in general. I did notice a couple of teeny minor plot flaws, but that's okay since you don't have the series right at hand. About the angsty/depressing writing thingy: It's almost impossible to write a rational, clear voicing like this one without having a tinge of angst/depression. Well, since it's Fushigi Yuugi, there has to be a BUCKET-ful of angst/depression!

Just a small note on FY overall: it make me really mad when the television series sort of skims over emotions like they aren't important. Like, for example, Chiriko (the real one) informed the other seishi after Amiboshi's fateful accident that his ki was wavering while he was playing. If you go back and watch the ceremony, you couldn't tell at all that he was in inner turmoil. And the series focuses a little too much on Tamahome. I mean, he's the main male character and all, but the other seishi were just as important and just as (actually more) loved as Tamahome. I mean, more people were torn apart by Nuriko's death than all of Tamahome's millions and billions of angsty moments put together (I can honestly say that I was on of those people).

Wel! I'm starting to blabber randomly, so before I start to make no sense (if I haven't already) I'll the review right here.

I love this. Kou-chan is my favorite, favorite, FAVORITE character (Nuriko and the whole Genbu and B-whatever team come close, sometimes, though =P). I like the way you wrote this, it like... discribes him so well. Poor Amiboshi, he was betrayed even more then he was the betrayer. Suboshi, how DARE you give him those leafs! BAKA YAROU! DON'T YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR BROTHERS DONE FOR YOU?? WHO CARES ABOUT YUI? EWwwww... ehheheheh, sorry about that. *laughs nerviously* Anyway, I like. Very very good. And I let myself go....

Oh, very good. Very indepth of Amiboshi's inner feelings (I love Amiboshi! He's so nice compared to Suboshi! hehe) And I really like the refrain of "I let myself go" or similar ones like it. Very powerful effect. Good job!

Kaze-chan, you have done it again! Great story, I loved it! Very nicely written. Yes, I think, if you wanted to, you could write something non-angsty/depressing. Probably well, too. Keep up the GOOD WORK!!!
