Poor Diego, seems like even though Mia had her suspicions something would happen, he really didn't see it coming... but you wrote it in a way where it was understandable he would keep trying, and Mia seemed pretty appropriately traumatized and unable to move ahead with her life even when the reader knows she's right about Dahlia. I especially liked the ending part, with the flowers and Mia refusing to take "alternate options." Mia and Diego were both very in-character and sympathetic, and this is one of the better one-shots I've seen out there for them. Good job!
