Wow, that was brilliant and rings true.

I just found this, looking through older fics. I really liked it! The last line was the best "…that I would do anything to ensure they do not follow in my footsteps", made everything else click perfectly. You managed to make the monologue very sad, without being angst-ridden and overly emo. I also like how you managed to add a little goodness to Snapes thoughts, without making him seem mushy or overly sentimental, and OOC. Good work!

This makes me want to cry. I want to run and comfort him, hold him and fight beside him... It makes me hate how the world can be so cruel, and love that it shows us we are alive, and hate the people who are mean, like people were to SNape. YOU ARE A BRILLIANT WRITER. You should consider writing proffesionally, maybe college texts on the basis of humanity and human emotion, or stories that show how cruel and/or wonderful the world is...

This entire story -and in particular the lines I've quoted above -is so well-written, and offers an explanation beyond words, an explination of Severus' past and present. I could vividly imagine this to be true, and I must say that you are a truly incredible writer.
