Dear “PancakeLake” (I won’t use your name because I don’t think you’d want me to) and readers of her Dexter’s Lab stories,

First of all, how DARE you make me the enemy here. After all we’ve been through (Jesus Christ, this is turning into a soap opera.) as best friends and such...I can’t believe you’d do this to me.

To whomever is saying I HAVE PROBLEMS here (note to reviewer below me), let me tell my side of the story here.

I met “PancakeLake” probably two years ago? One? THREE?! I don’t know. But all I know is we had a lot in common and quickly became best friends and such. One day the topic of yaoi came up (don’t ask HOW, our friends are creepers. In a good way :D). I thought it was ridiculous and obviously said that I preferred het. Bertha agreed with me, even going so far as to say yaoi was disgusting, or something along those lines. Imagine my surprise when I’m searching through another good friend’s AIM profile and I find her fanfiction account, which has a link to “PancakeLake”’s as well.

All yaoi stories.

Not a single het.

I felt kind of betrayed frankly. I wasn’t even disturbed. I mean, everyone has their preferences and should do whatever the hell they love no matter what other people say. So I confronted her about it. The only thing that bothered me, “PancakeLake”/readers of this, was that she LIED to me and FAKED HATING IT right to my face. I would have never teased her about it if she had just TOLD me. If you love yaoi, love yaoi. If you hate it, hate it. But I never told you to stop writing. Because if writing is what you love, no one should tell you to stop. If you love something, do it and tell everyone else to kiss your **. Which is why you stopping writing because of this shocks me. So I teased you a little. Big deal! Tease me! Be assertive! Be like, “PSH EMILY, YOUR HET COUPLES SUCK **. SASUINO WILL NEVER HAPPEN IN NARUTO! LOLOLOL!” I would never stop liking it because you teased me about it. Because that would just give you what you wanted, you see? By doing this, you’re backing down.

And you should never give up without a fight, amirite?

Anyways, what I’m trying to say is I never would have teased you about it (and I wasn’t even mean about it! I had a few “lol”s over it, big deal). Don’t lie to a friend. It’s kind of not a good idea. (Moral of the story, anyone?)

So, in conclusion (LAWL IT’S AN ESSAY!), I’m still up for being your best friend if you are. Because, as your best friend (or, hopefully I am, because you’re one of mine), I would never stop being friends with you over some silly dramatic letter on . So, I’m down if you are. Sure, I’m ** that you’d pull this after all we’ve been through and stuff, but every friendship has its ups and downs. I’m guessing this is one of our downs. And if you don’t want to be friends anymore, which is the vibe I’m getting from this letter, then fine. I’ll never bother you again.

Anyways, I’m sorry if I ever made you feel like you shouldn’t be writing stories you liked writing. It really was never my intention. You just made it sound like I said “** TAKE DOWN THOSE STORIES OR I’LL EAT YOUR CAT OM NOM NOM!”. And I never, ever said to stop writing fanfiction, for the record. I even told you I liked your stories. I read them all, by the way. Because your writing is fabulous and you should keep doing it. For the record.

even if you don't read this, I still have to say I can't believe you stopped writing this-- I really liked it, and it always made my day when I saw the alert in my mailbox...I guess I can understand the not feeling like writing anymore, but if you did it "just" for your friend then I don't think it's right. it's not you being the bad friend, it's her. you shouldn't have to give up apart of yourself because your friend has problems with it, they should accept it and ignore it if they don't like it.
