Well, haven't we all been wondering what in the WORLD Danny was thinking over Season 4?? I bet this is a fairly accurate rendering.

I do feel sorry for Danny, but at the same time he ticks me off (sorry, don't know if I can swear.) All Lindsay wanted to do was to be there for him, and help him. She could have made the pain go away! Gr! PS If this is you being unpleasant, I really don't want to tick you off.

I always enjoy the structure to your writing. In this case the mirroring of this line, "If he went to sleep right … now … he could still clock enough pillow-time to function in the morning." tells us so much in so few words about how Danny is struggling to sleep at the moment - I suspect it is the mantra (in one form or another) of everyone suffering insomnia or tortured/ disturbed sleep.

The mixing of the images in his nightmare is highly effective and lets us see how one random act (the stray bullet that killed Ruben) how damaged so many people (Danny, Lindsay, Rikki).

Great chapter. Looking forward to more.

Whoah Nelly! A very good start. Though some of the details appeared sketchy (intentional on your part, i'm sure ;) ), it's a gripping chapter because it compels me, as a reader to question some stuff. Wonderful job :)

Goodness...not pleasant is putting it mildly! Beautiful writing, but boy oh boy is that a depressing night terror...
