I just loved the parallel you made between the show and Wuthering Heights! And, honestly, I couldn't imagine Emily with anyone better.

So, I just sat and read this in a single sitting, and...wow. Seriously. I LOVED the summary, because hell, it's just so true. (Although I think it works in two ways...the reason you gave about how much she talks about Derek -which guy could live up to that :)- and also because Derek himself is such a hindrance (Male Code, Prank War with the football team, and lately telling everybody that he totally didn't like Truman -which he later amended, but I like to pretend 'Surprise' never happened-)
And oddly enough I loved your handling of the Emily/Truman relationship. The ambiguity, the understanding and *everything* and that's one couple I've never seen before! Also I loved the 'Wuthering Heights' references and the non-dramatic end. Great job! :)

I really loved this, especially how you tied famous literature to the Derek and Casey relationship and how you switched through different times for each part. Everything in this came together in the end and nothing was left out in the open or come off as unneeded. Really good fanfiction for Life With Derek. It's funny, I used to watch this show all the time thinking like a Dasey fan without realizing other people out there were too... Once a definite favorite and you did an excellent job in keeping everyone in character.

I just found this story and read the whole thing, and I really enjoyed it! You captured a good blend of what Derek and Casey are on the show and what they could be (and are) in the wonderful land of fanfiction! The story felt genuine and just lovely! I enjoyed the literary aspect as well, with the Bronte parallels - I haven't read "Wuthering Heights" but I've wanted to read it for a while. You just gave me a very good reason to try to read it sooner rather than later! Great job, and I look forward to reading more that you write in the future!

The ending was just right - I loved your understated tone throughout the story. You leave enough to the imagination and fill in just the right amount. The Emily bits were good too and Wuthering Heights is amazing. Do write more.

I think the ending fit the story! and a very good story at that! and I KNOW about the new show -- I mean except for dasey making out -- did they just take that idea from the many many fanfics about it lol! can't wait to rd all the fanfics it spawns ;) lol

Well of course it was amazing. Again. Srsly, I wish you were able to write more often. You have such talent! I thought this was a perfect ending though I'm sad to see it end because it was all so, well, perfect! I agree. March Break was AMAZING! You notice how much the show has changed thought since they don't do the physical fights anymore and this would have been a perfect opportunity. Srsly, if they're not going for Dasey they need to stop setting the scenes up for it. It just makes them look like liars. :D

Hooray! That was amazing! Loved March Break. It's like the writers were reading fanfiction, with the "family road-trip" subplot, but I never would have thought to leave Derek and Casey home alone. Ooh, the Dasey possibilities! You should write a fanfic of the episode. bluesnowflake44 already did...but more are welcome, especially if they're from an amazing writer like you!
