This is a great fic depicting Shinji's feelings after the death of Rei II who sacrificed herself.

I have to admit, you have quite a knack for sadness. This one almost brought on the waterworks, it was so good. Beautiful, haunting and melancholy as only you could create. Thanks again for another good one.
