kenobi1985 2009-10-14 . chapter 1 I love that you have the Cybertronian time scheme terms on here. That's what's always comfused me. Thanks! Keep up the good work. |
ViolentlyApathetic 2009-09-09 . chapter 1Just wanted to say how helpful I found this little dictionary. Yes, there are Transformers wikis out there, but they usually require you to have a search term in mind when browsing. I find this much more convenient. Awesome stuff. |
 Corona09 2009-05-26 . chapter 1This really helpful to me. Thanks! |
SEZwho94 2009-05-11 . chapter 1Wow, this is really helpful in writing my fanfic! I do have one question though, what would you call the internal skeletal makeup of a transformer? Is it just a skeleton? |
Kuroi Atropos 2009-04-24 . chapter 1Thanks for this list! It's actually pretty helpful and fun knowing the differences for some of these things movieverse/cartoonverse. Thanks! |
 Francesca Zatnik 2009-04-09 . chapter 1Frag: to kill |
The Cat Crusader 2008-11-29 . chapter 1This is very helpful. I might have to go back and proofread my stories... again...
Anyway, I think you missed something in the definition on "chassis". I've read in several fics that this term also refers to a femme's breast area. |
 Fire-Metal-Horse17 2008-09-26 . chapter 1That's so totally awesome! |
Anon 2008-08-22 . chapter 1 Interesting, but you have some things wrong:
G1 does not simply refer to the original cartoon series. It refers to the original Transformer toys released by Hasbro/Takara and the multiple continuities in which these characters have appeared. Aside from the cartoon, this would include at least three different comic series, one of which is a current publication.
The Nemesis is not the ship that Megatron built his undersea headquarters around. It's the ship that the Decepticons used to follow the Autobots when they left Cybertron. It was lost when they boarded the Ark and crashed on Earth.
After they awoke, Megatron had them build a new spacecruiser (never named) in order to return to Cybertron. However, when they tried to leave, Mirage managed to sneak aboard and forced it to crash into the ocean. It was around this ship that they built their headquarters.
Much later the Nemesis reappeared, buried under a hill in South America. Megatron recovered the Heart of Cybertron from it and it was never shown again in that series. Beast Wars apparently had a storyline which featured the ship, but it didn't do anything to change that basic background. Bottom line is the Nemesis and the spacecruiser that became part of the Decepticon base are different ships.
Lastly, the term Seeker does not refer to just any Decepticon with a flight capable altmode. It refers only to those jets which have very similar body-types. Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercracker, Ramjet, Thrust, and Dirge are all Seekers. Astrotrain and Blitzwing are not. They already have a handy term to describe them: Triple Changers. All of the other Decepticon flyers belong to a sub-group of some sort; there's no need to try to shove them into the same category as Starscream and his kind.
It's a good effort overall, but the Transformer Wikia is a perfectly good resource if someone really needs this sort of help. |
Syntia13 2008-08-22 . chapter 1I'm sorry to be the voice-of-criticism, but I only got as far as:
"Audial sensor- Sensors in the neck/throat area that give a Transfrmer the ability to speak. (Audial)"
Nu-uh. Where did you get this one from?
Sensor (noun): A device, such as a photoelectric cell, that receives and responds to a signal or stimulus.
Audial (adj) : of or pertaining to the sense of hearing;
So audial sensor would be a device which detects sound waves, not the one creating sounds. Try voice processor, vocal processor, or simply voice box. Some of us also use words like vocoder or vocalizer.
Once again, sorry to nag, but if I start seeing inadequate vocabulary like this popping all around, I think I'll scream. I have hard time enough coping with 'defiantly' and 'definitely' mixed up in every second fic. |
Jessie07 2008-08-21 . chapter 1Cool!! This has definitly got to be helpful for all the writers out there and for those of us who arn't always sure what the heck is actually being said in a story. |
skywarped 2008-08-21 . chapter 1Well, this is nice and all... but there is already a database filled with transformers terms and knowledge, which has way more detailed entries for everything you've written up thus far, plus much more. It's called Teletraan I - It's a wiki, so anyone can create an account and help maintain and edit it. I think you have a great idea, and its awesome that you want to put something like this together... however, I think you will be of greater service to transformers fans if you helped out with Teletraan rather than try to start something completely new. As huge as it is, Teletraan still has a lot of articles that need help being written, expanded and edited. If you're interested, you can check it out by running a google key word search using 'transformers wiki', or if I am allowed to offer links in reviews, you can just go to transformers dot wikia dot com |
flamingmarsh 2008-08-21 . chapter 1she has more terms now but she has yet to put them up. I've been helping her and if you wish to want more terms, go to wikipedia and type in transformers anatomy. There will be awhole list of terms and everything. |
Dreamchylde 2008-08-21 . chapter 1How about nasal plates, audio receptors, vocal processors, air intakes, fuel pumps, and fuel tanks?
I like the idea of the dictionary.
