Wow. This is simply amazing. The style and description of your prose makes it so moody but flow so well. There are so many lyrical gems in here but I think my favorite has to be this: "He wanted nothing from her, and she had nothing to give. So in that way at least, it made perfect sense." If nothing else it gives a plausible explanation for the seemingly ooc moment in canon for the most aloof being in the story to go against all his previously held beliefs.

Well, but then I have to add how much I love the idea of humanity being this large, colorless, uniform mass - then she pops out in color - too much goodness in this drabble.

Wow. I have to say that I'm really impressed with your "purple prose", as you call it, the way you had Sesshomaru viewing humans as a unit instead of as individuals, and the whole 'white flag' symbolism in Rin's first smile. I can't write a good metaphor to save my life, and yours blew me away. I've always loved this episode where Sesshomaru first began to change his ways, and you absolutley captured the moment. Great fic!
