That was one of the best Hurt!Dean stories I've read! Bravo!! I loved it. Awesome job, love the fact that it has a basis in a real live haunting. Including RL in a story just gives it that little extra umpf for me. Thanks for sharing this story, looking forward to reading more of your work!

Great story - loved it that Dean wouldnt shut up even when he was dying.

I so freakin' LOVED this story! It's so hilarious in the beginning, so angsty and full of action later, and tragic and sad a little more later. And love the end, so cute! *squee*

Must say, scalped! and impaled!Dean - that's horrible but I loved it and that's what worries me *lol*. Is that possible, scalping sb like this? *whoa* I had to pull myself together to not let out a little scream *rofl* After chap 4 I was a little bit desperate :)

“I’m fine,” he said automatically, then realized Sam hadn’t said anything. Oops."

--> That little scene was so dean-ish. So fun and so heartbreaking. Love it.

And I so freaked out at the end of chap 6 and hat almost tears in my eyes, seriously. Although I knew that it wasn't a death!fic, it was just...so tragic and just like in the show and so full of angst and. Yeah. You know.

And Sam's sacrifice was really great.

OK, read the rest in one sitting - really liked the story, too (except for the scalping - yikes...) but most of all i liked the banter between the brother - really well written...i laughed a lot! (colleagues still think I'm crazy, by the way... ;-))

Ok, i was going to finish the whole story before i review, but the first chapter just cracked me up completely...so i had to go and tell you right away!
Dean's reaction to the "cuteness" of the town - prizeless...I couldn't quote my favorite line here because i found all of them hilarious (my colleagues think i'm crazy now, by the way; me snickering all the time...).
other than that, i especially loved these lines:

“You’re suggesting we go up where people go stark staring nuts and fling themselves onto pointy things?”
“Uh, yeah.”
“Works for me.”

great - just so in character!

Love the misspelled t-shirts! Eew! Scalping! Gross! And probably uncomfortable :) Sam is doing so good here, staying all calm and together lol.

Everyone grateful to be living in times of serious knock-out drugs during medical procedures not conducted in a bookstore, raise your hand. (Raising hand.)

This chapter looses nothing in the second reading. Still as fab as the first time. Good work :)

So glad you posted this as one long chapter. I don't know where you would have put the break, but I'm suspecting it would have been one of your evil cliffhangers. Sneaky Sam and his human almost-sacrifice. Dean really needs to look after himself, because little brother is willing to go an awfully long way to take care of him. Love Bobby at the end, too - Bobby just makes everything safe and secure.
