 Toesocks29 2009-07-07 . chapter 41Wow! I love this story so much! |
Anonymous 2009-07-03 . chapter 41 I love this story. It's so real, and you've done a great job of exploring the dark side of a relationship while keeping Aladdin and Jasmine in character.
And I love your other stories too. I seriously hope to see some more JasmineXMozenrath in the future! :) |
scaragh 2009-06-24 . chapter 41Hmm...feels like things are slowing down. That’s part of what has intrigued me about this story - it is so intense, and sometimes I almost feel what the characters are feeling while reading: anxiety, numbness, relief, etc. It’s certainly a long way from that first magic carpet ride. But I like that they are attempting to reconcile and forgive, with the exception of that one little problem of where Jasmine was all those nights in the desert.
I really liked the juxtaposition of them forgiving each other in this chapter. Especially the issue of the council, and how each saw it as the other one’s fault. Nicely done :) |
demonegg 2009-06-15 . chapter 41It seems like forever since I've formally reviewed one of your stories on here, but I think this one deserves it. The word choice is amazing here. I especially loved the color imagery at the beginning, and later on, the juxtaposition of "a cold kiss..[that] burned more harshly than hate."
Plus you've brought further attention to the idea that forgiveness takes time by addressing each day separately then lingering the most on the difficulty they've yet to overcome. & "The trespass of rosewater into their bed..." phrase just leaves me breathless.
Welcome back to the real (fanfiction) world. This has made me happy. :) |
scaragh 2009-04-08 . chapter 40Hmm...I sense the story winding towards an end. Of sorts, at least. Or perhaps this is the calm before another storm? Either way, I'm very exited!
I still wonder what would happen if Aladdin ever found out it was Mozenrath, and what the sorcerer himself is up to, and what he got from his relationship with Jasmine. I love how you do that thing where you tie pieces from earlier chapters, like Jasmine's challenge to Aladdin. |
kitsunelover 2009-03-04 . chapter 39It was very refreshing for me to read this latest chapter, as school has not left me much time for fic these past couple of months. Even this short chapter was a fantastic treat. Love the tension between Aladdin and jasmine, and how they settled for a physical reconciliation rather than a verbal one. Did Aladdin catch her sneaking out this time? And if so, I wonder what Mozenrath is thinking as he's waiting for someone who won't show up this time. Can't wait to see him again. |
 AgiVega 2009-03-04 . chapter 39All I can say is: FINALLY! :) |
scaragh 2009-03-02 . chapter 39Oh my. Maybe their should hold off on their moment of reconciliation for a time when they aren't in the desert surrounded by soldiers. xD
Really, though, the road to forgiveness and healing is a long, hard one indeed. And as much as I adore Mozenrath, I think it's much better for them to try to heal their marriage, not only out of duty to each other, but in this case, to the kingdom as well. You've illustrated the ups and downs (to the extreme, in many cases) of a marriage so well here. I can't wait to see if they are actually going to try to fix the problems or if someone is going to mess up again... |
scaragh 2009-02-18 . chapter 38Wow. I felt a few tears bubbling up at the second half of this chapter. This and the last chapter, you did a fantastic job of portraying Jasmine’s feelings. I know this is a far cry from the same situation, but I remember once I had a boyfriend who wanted me to meet his ex-girlfriend, who also happened to be his best friend. I dreaded the meeting so much. Lots of similar feeling to the ones Jasmine is feeling here. Not that I ever dreamed of murdering the poor girl, though.
Anyways, I’m so glad we finally get to see the “other woman” (well, girl). I like how Jasmine reacted to the situation, seeing the reality of the girl’s fear and pain and situation, a servant who inadvertently made an enemy of the most powerful woman in the kingdom, and the inevitable meeting was no doubt fueled by gossip and rumors about the queen. And here, it’s really all ALADDIN’S fault! Lol…dangit, Al…you are such a jerk!
It will be interesting now to see how Jasmine reacts to this new thought of mercy, and if we get to see what Mozenrath and Aladdin think of her (impending) transformation as the poison both of them has helped inject into her drains away..
Hmm, I always love your titles, even if I don’t take the time to look them up. Is the title for this one, Ruth, a reference to the Bible? That’s the first thing that popped into my mind. |
I like angst 2009-02-16 . chapter 38A very intense scene. I could almost feel myself become just as confused as jasmine I had expected the same thing for the woman to resemble her. And I could feel the anger drain from Jasmine. it was a very intense scene. Still, the title of this chapter perplexes me a little. I guess I'm trying to read too much into it. Thank you for continuing. |
Angel 2009-02-15 . chapter 36 This entire series had me hooked from the first chapter. I've enjoyed the mix of angst and the dark themes. Mozenrath and Jasmine's interaction seems very in character, and I enjoy seeing this side of Jasmine that I don't think is very often portrayed. An excellent job well done. I can't wait to read more. |
scaragh 2009-01-26 . chapter 36Aw, no knife this time? Shame. She could at least use it on Aladdin...just a little ;)
I like the change of pace these last few chapters have taken. Exciting. It's like Jasmine got jolted out of her stupor and is now catching back up with the world and what has been happening in her absence, so to speak. Man, I can't wait for the next chapter! |
scaragh 2009-01-15 . chapter 35Aw, nice! I love it when Genie gets serious, and we are reminded of just how old and powerful and (possibly) wise he truly is. Very nice touch, that, I really enjoyed it. It's those blasted interactions again!
Also, sorry for being slow on the uptake, but is Aladdin the one leaving the simple gifts by her bedside, and is Mozenrath the one who left the knife? I think it's about time I went back and re-read the whole story again.
I definitely feel the story moving forward now. It was kind of stagnant for a few chapters, but I think that reflected Jasmine's state of being, and now there is definite movement. I anxiously await your next move... |
ForeverACharmedOne 2009-01-15 . chapter 35Genie's sudden appearance was unexpected. That's a good thing. Wow, he's been watching the whole time and never said a word? I'm not sure whether to be surprised or not. But in any case I can't wait to see what happens at that council meeting should Jasmine decide to attend it. ^_^ |
 ForeverACharmedOne 2009-01-15 . chapter 34Whoa.
O_O
That is all I can say. That and wow. *whistles* Your writing really just gets more and more fascinating to read. ^_^ |
