A great story. Very good.

This is very interesting! You have me very curious about just who that little girl might be...and why Toad was sent to kill her. I also loved the way you described Toad's sinister nature, and his awareness of it. He's not a nice person, and he doesn't deny it, doesn't shy away from it. But at the same time, you also show his humanity.

I especially loved the last line:

"He was upset when he realized this would happen with the only one with the right to weep. He may be a monster, but it was a small comfort to know he wasn't the worst."

Gosh, that's a darker direction, but I like it. You play with all the facets of fan-girl-idols that tend to get rubbed out. The reality of what would exist. Choosing a child to illustrate it was probably the only way to push the horrific effect. Nicely put together.

oh, please do continue with this! The writing style is good, and you build up the atmosphere well. There is some lovely discription in this too, and I'm looking forward to see how you write dialogue...

Who is everyone? Is the girl Jean Grey? (I'm basing that on the pure fact she has red hair. heh)
