This was so good. Seriously. I sort of always wondered what happened to the experiments before the flock, and I always thought that for children who spent years in a horrible place, and suffered so much, the flock was way too perfect. And now that the Maximum Ride series has gone downhill, I'm finding that I actually like some fics much better than the original. Like this fic. I loved it. :)
