magialuna 2009-05-02 . chapter 4Lovely story. The last chapter seemed very rushed compared to the rest of the story, which made me sad since I've really enjoyed your writing. I would have loved to read a more detailed telling of the progression of Snape and Hermione's relationship.
I love the idea of hiding Snape under the cloak- very clever.
Thanks for a very entertaining story.

notwritten 2008-10-23 . chapter 4That was a very interesting, and cool chapter that you have written today. Thanks for sharing. Keep smiling. :-) |
 ippogrifo 2008-10-23 . chapter 4Beautiful story.
Reopening Snape’s chances in life through the use of this deathly hollow has been an intelligent and elegant idea.
A Snape relaxed, enjoying his time, free to pursue his projects is so gratifying for me, especially when this happens without removing his characteristic traits like temper and sarcasm (nice when replies to Hermione “If you must”). The relationship with Hermione, just outlined, changes in a very quiet way, so typical for two persons like them. And I think it’s very fit that both become involved in giving also wizarding world a second chance to grow and develop for the better. |
duj 2008-10-23 . chapter 4A heaping spoonful of happy ending. |
 makaem 2008-10-23 . chapter 4 Lovely. |
wynnleaf 2008-10-04 . chapter 2I liked Minerva's comments and the recognition that she acted and thought toward Snape exactly as he had *meant* for her to think toward him. And yet Minerva is still sorry for what this role he played had done to Severus. |
wynnleaf 2008-10-04 . chapter 1JKR left a number of openings for alternative outcomes for Snape. Teenager's assumptions and that their feeling that the light went out of someone's eyes means they're dead are easy to get around. And of course Arthur lasted a good while between being bitten and finally arriving at St. Mungo's. |
excessivelyperky 2008-09-30 . chapter 3Yes, it would be an unusual feeling for Snape to feel refreshed--how horribly weary he must have been that final year, forcing himself to drag on to his (sometimes welcome) grave, knowing that no one would ever care a fig for his sacrifice. It does help to be acknowledged, however belatedly. And perhaps he's finally realizing that he's free (especially if he leaves fairly soon before the Ministry makes up their mind to make him into a scapegoat, or as a way to prove to Harry Potter that he's not so much).
Hermione has the other problem, though in her case it's self inflicted--she did dare rather too much with her parents (one would think moving them to Australia would have been sufficient). It's proper for her to be worried, and to finally doubt herself. Ever since that troll charged into the girls' bathroom, she's be overly sure of herself, and others have suffered because of it. Now the cost is finally coming home to her, though Flitwick tried to soften things.
Excellent. |
whitehound 2008-09-25 . chapter 3I like the fact that even though Severus is feeling quite soft and sentimental, he's determined not to let anyone else know that he is. He's regaining the upper hand - the one good thing about having been Headmaster. |
duj 2008-09-24 . chapter 3It's good for him to be getting out of that prison of a place. (I don't believe it was ever "home" to him, just a roof and a bed and a board and a task.) |
notwritten 2008-09-23 . chapter 3These chapters are very interesting and enjoyable. Keep smiling. :-) |
sqHPfan 2008-09-23 . chapter 1thank you for this story. I love stories about Snape surviving because JKR really cut him short. He is the most complex character and she just let him die! He deserved so much more and your story gives him the opportunity. I can't wait to see what you will come up with and where you will lead him. well written! |
ippogrifo 2008-09-23 . chapter 3I like Harry's visit to Snape: proud and sober without excesses. And most of all, I appreciated that instead of the thousands of explanations and apologies hanging above them, you rather singled out to make them talking about their meeting with Lily, a moment very intimate and connecting.
And you managed to get a very impressive Snape in the scene with Minerva and Albus’ portrait: he is splendidly in charge, commanding and superior although he has entered his office asking permission. |
excessivelyperky 2008-09-19 . chapter 2I bet this is the first time in a _very_ long time that anyone has been glad to see Snape, and shown it so openly. McGonagall retained her dignity (with Snape's help), but Hermione didn't care, and that makes a big difference. I don't Hermione for wanting to elide over the way Snape was helped compared with Arthur Weasley, of course--it is embarassing to realize how wrong one has been about someone, and it would have been nice if anyone in canon _had_ cared about Snape at all.
Very good chapter, thank you! |
