You captured Light's emotions so well, and I did really get the sense that he cared for, and maybe even loved, L - even though he just kept pretending to hate him.

I could see Raito being in love with L in this fic ~nods~ I think the measure of his hatred could validate the idea ~nods again~ w00t for channeling!!

Oh this was starkingly so.. Raito! I understand that one tends to fear appearing arrogant by showing a certain HEALTHY narcissism over one's own talent but, really, arrogance is baseless confidence and there is more than enough ground to justify yours.

I just loved how you convey Raito's emotions moment by moment and how they steadily change from victorious to betrayed by L's death, underscored by the denied feelings for the other man. Very poignant and colorful, I almost felt possessed myself being so drawn into the character. You did a fine job.

There are some grammatical mistakes that lead me to believe you probably rushed, or didn't reread and just posted your first draft but... what the hell. It was so well written that it outshines all that, I think.

Your arrogance is well warranted, dear. This was a fairly fresh take on Raito's view of L's death. Affection covered with a vicious semi-denial and laced with genuine hate. M, a recipe more satisfying than the best strawberry cheesecake, no?

That was honestly outstanding. Yes, the idea that Light had cared for L was there, very slightly, but it was noticable nonetheless. The quotes you set at the beginning and end of the story only made it more certain.

This made alot of sense, which is what made me like - love it so much. It is so predictable of Raito to blame L for dying. And then hating him for dying is even more expected. The way you had his thoughts in order however made things much more overwhelming and captivating. And the bit of humor when Raito added that he would not have been surprised if Rem came up to him, telling him that L hadn't died after having his name written down, helped with the flow of the story. Very well done~

There were a few spelling/other mistakes that I noticed, just in case you would like to know;
-- The fifth paragraph down (I'm including single sentenced/worded lines too) you wrote "moment's"
-- The ninth paragraph down you wrote "thing" instead of "think"
-- The fifteenth paragraph down you forgot to add "than" after "I thought you were better - that."
I apologize if you may not have wanted me to write it in a review.

I would be thrilled if I could write like this, but alas. Again, very well done. I wouldn't expect anything else from your stories.

Of all the first-person Light POV stories I've read thus far, this has to be the best. I could imagine Light's English voice actor saying all of this, really.

The hatred, the contempt, the undercurrent of caring and actual grief on Light's part - it all blended together so well, and if I had to give an oral review, I'd be unable to because of my speechlessness. This is AMAZING.

Of course your love is justified! It was fairly obvious that Light did care about L, despite what he said. Because we all know that Light masks all his real feeling in hate. lol. The quotes helped though. Nice job!

"I was half expecting Rem to gasp and tell me later that she’d written down your name and you hadn’t died, and she couldn’t explain it. That would be just like you, L." I love that line, for some odd reason...
