you know. I didn't like River. I hated the idea of her, cause I'm such a Rose/10 shipper. However, because of your fic, you've put my mind at ease. Now I can accept River and whatever is in store for the series. Thanks for being an awesome writer!

Great insight into the Doctor's character -- the way that he runs from the "forever" that others want from him and he can't or won't ever give, and how his non-chronological encounter with River offered him an out, an escape clause from his fear. Very thought-provoking story!

Oh, this is gorgeous. Beautifully, painfully written. The tone of it got right inside the Doctor's head, and had an almost poetic flow to it.

Thank you for this. I too have always wanted to explore the Doctor and River's relationship and how he would eventually come to love and trust her so much that he would tell her his true name. As brief as their time together is, this kind of love would have been come slowly for them.
