Hey, this is great. I had once started reading this story, but then lost it around the time chapter 12 or 13 was up. I'm glad I found it again.

Being a doctor is NOT conductive to Clark being Superman though. Being a doctor mean long, LONG hours, where a guy can't just disappear all of a sudden. Him being a REPORTER meant less hours, and the ability to go 'chase a lead' whenever something came up.

Clark becoming a doctor just doesn't make sense, no matter how smart he is.
