Very creepy, and quite feasible. And it's understandable Severus could believe that of Lily, and he might be right to do so. There was a distinct hint of "you're not cool enough to be my friend any more" when she told him that "my friends" (not "my other friends") couldn't see what she saw in him, and she did end up going out with a shallow bully who happened to be a popular Quidditch star...

I'd forgotten that that was the summer of the great heatwave, which started on June 22nd 1976. I can remember not only sleeping naked and coverless, but sleeping naked and coverless and draped with cold wet tea-towels, in an effort to cool down enough to sleep. Depending on when their OWLs finished that might have contributed to the Marauders' crass behaviour - people can get a bit loopy when it's oppressively hot.

Loved this bit. LV knew exactly which nerve to poke at to get the reaction he required. What could be more attractive to someone who is the butt of jokes, who is constantly described as weak and pathetic, than the offer of power? It would tempt lesser men.

Love, love, love this. Very powerful. The image of the 'thing' he would become coming through as he drinks his servant's blood...creepy and spinechilling and written wonderfully.
