Megagalvatron12 2/16/11 . chapter 1Cap harrman got what he deserved stripped of his command but I think that starfleet should have turned him over to the klingons and let them deal with him since the klingons respect kirk and not an incompetent cap like harrman |
PrettyArbitrary 8/25/09 . chapter 1I'd have loved to be a fly on the wall for the conference between Harriman and Spock. :)
It's been too long since I saw Generations, so I don't recall whether this'd be a deserved punishment or not, but really. You just don't mess with that crew. |
BenRG 7/24/09 . chapter 1It's funny but, the first time my mother saw Star Trek - Generations, she said that Capt. Harriman was a 'political' appointee and was only ever going to be on the Enterprise-B for a few months so it would look good on his resumé. It looks like she wasn't the only one to have this point of view.
There is a lot of nice depth and hidden 'easter eggs' to this story. I particularly like the touch of making Finnigan an Admiral. Ah, how it must have burned him how his one-time target for torment had become a galactic hero.
It is true that there are two kinds of captain - the ones who do it to command a ship and the ones who are passing through to flag rank. Kirk was the former, Harriman (at least in this story) was the latter. It is a deep irony that, for all his political knack and instinct, events are going to rob Harriman of his prize. I wouldn't be surprised if he spends the rest of his career sorting through toilet paper requisition forms. ;D
Now... I wonder exactly what Spock is going to do to Harriman? Nothing violent but... there has never been a being better able to quietly express disappointment in history.

Unseen Watcher 5/30/09 . chapter 1Wow. He just keeps digging himself deeper. An interesting look into what might have happened afterward, and what Starfleet might have become without those events. Fascinating. _ Love the group solidarity. |
Whatever Her Name Is 9/15/02 . chapter 1Awesome! Really cool.
Nice way of portraying events without describing *them*, liked the way you thoroughly put Cap'n Harriman's character into it all. Loved the last paragraph. HAHA! Really funny...
"I cant believe Kirk had the utter rudeness to die..." LOL
Keep it up,

WiseOwl 2/23/02 . chapter 1 I liked that, thought I really couldn't begin to explain why... nice job. |
Sister of Squeaky 12/27/01 . chapter 1Awesome story! It's interesting to see how Captain Harriman reacted to the death of Kirk during his maiden voyage. The way you showed his thoughts about Kirk's former crewmembers, Starfleet Command, and other people and events was very well done and fascinating. Very well written. I give it 5 stars and two thumbs up! |
